I've heard good things about rand mc pc miler has one chepper than the rest and that's what most companies use for pricing quotes but don't rely on the gps it will put you on roads that you should not be on just cause its not restricted don't mean you should be on it always call and get directions get a rand mc truck map to check restricted rts and low underpasses and look at the rout the gps gives you it might rout you on 2 lane rd when the hwy is just a few more miles

    Rand McNally 528881469

7-inch Intelliroute TND 700 Truck GPS

right now they are 449.00 after 50.00 mail in rebate. Loads of features for the truckers. This system was built from the ground up just for the truckers. Go to Rand Mcnally.com and look it up, they have some good demo videos on what it can do.
    Good Luck.

I roll with the PC Miller and its OK. When I change it will be the Garmin truckers edition due to the software it uses and the online support. Just a heads up if you work with a company that has a built in navigation system on the qualcom " don't trust it." They are not programed for truck routing... ect.... Best of luck........

You will hear this over and over on here, I would never use a GPS for routing......just a tool to verify with a good motor carriers atlas, pre-plan every time. With that said, I like to look up the route in my atlas, then plug the info in my GPS and see what it says, and then alter the route in the GPS if needed. I think the best part of a GPS is being able to see what roads are coming up and especially at night....Great Tool! For this purpose I would get a huge screen like I have, makes life so much easier and prevents having to turn around! (this is where new drivers often get into trouble, nervous and making U-turns) I would not rely too heavy on this tool, but things are changing and the data is getting better. I had a Garman Truck, and it was pretty good, but did have some issues. Currently I have a Rand Mac 700 and love it. I have had about 4 units since I sarted driving, started with the Copilot Truck on my lap top and the mapping was very good, but it would often lock up, and I worried about having the laptop lit up in the stand going through the scales and other DOT inspection.
