Well crud. While speaking with a representative ("Blackie") at Trainco, we were discussing my 3 year DMV record, which I have mentioned here ad nauseam. By the way, Blackie is a very personable man.
He recommended I wait until late March before coming to school, so that by the time I graduated in mid-April, the moving violation ticket in Aril '08 would fall off, leaving me with 2 points from Jan '10 remaining. He did have me fill out a few pre-hires with Werner, USXpress, Stevens Transport, etc., even though I explained that I was not interested in them. He just wanted to "test the waters," so to speak. I requested....twice... to do a pre-hire with Maverick, but both times he "evaded" the request. May have been his way of saying "don't waste your time, they aren't going to take you." Haha. I did get a pre-hire from USXpress within a few hours. I've also applied online to Swift's cdl program as a backup. Haven't heard anything from the Swift recruiter based in Columbus, Ohio as of yet.
Anyways, may have to wait a few extra weeks to get started, but you know that old saying about patience being a virg....urr..virtue.
School may to wait until March

Well the fact that he avoided Maverick could be for a different reason Buckeye. Maverick may not recognize that school due to issues with past students. the school I went to here in Wisconsin used to have a good thing going with Schneider at one point but stopped recruiting from there and also told some of the guys that were going there that they would have to go thru Schneider school and then training .......

So long as you have $$ coming in till then, what the hay?- as in HAY,not HEY..??

Buckeye, your record isn't that bad. Believe it or not I had 9 points on my license when I started my very first driving job with Mayflower. I know times have changed a little. Don't put the idea to bed. Do some research into the smaller companies and don't be afraid to call around and talk to them. Smaller companies like for instance, Windy Hill, Epes, Henderson or companies local to your area are much more forgiving. These rules aren't made by the companies but are made by the insurance companies. The mega-carriers insurance standards are a little more stricter. I would hate for you to miss some good training in before winter is over. Will make next year a bear when you are on your own. Good luck man, if you need help give a shout.

No, Maverick sends recruiters to Trainco on a monthly basis, and they prefer hiring Trainco graduates because of the skill set their students attain when they graduate. This is from a Maverick recruiter, and not Trainco by the way. This feeling is mirrored by quite a few prestigious companies.

Glad to hear it!
I was in there today and he mentioned that he talked to you, and said he enjoyed talking to you.
He truly is a good man. -
As the saying goes..."from the horses mouth"...we all know what comes out the other end!
Recruiters are adept at saying what the person listening to them wants to hear! -
Except that the recruiter....told....me...to...my...face. So that kind of puts a hole in what your are insinuating.
-
If you can't understand plain and simple English...you are exactly what these mega carriers are looking for....someone who will do as they are told and not ask questions, or question legality!
I will type this slower for you.....RECRUITERS WILL SAY ANYTHING IT TAKES TO RECRUIT YOU.
Straight to your face, behind your back, over the phone....most anything EXCEPT IN WRITING until the writing is the contract for the debt you are about to get into!
