Are you getting .23cpm with Sceinder? The last time I drove for mileage pay was 1996. I was getting .25cpm. I have checked out Sceinders website and when I clicked on jobs. They are listed at 40,000.00 - 50,000.00 per year. Sceinder will not list mileage pay.

i was about to get on with them but they said i didnt have enough experiance. all well

Hmmm, the problem for today IS!
If you drove 3000 miles in a week and get this same mileage fo 12 months, how many miles did you drive that year?
If you made $40,000 that year you made how much per mile?
BUT if you are told a paupers pay of $.23 a mile and you drove the miles you came up with in part 1 of the question how much did you actually make that year?
Then to make $40,000 a year at $.23 a mile how many miles did you drive and were you in violation of FMCSA HOS at any time?
Class I expect these answers by the end of school!
Class I also want you to look closely at the problems. If you drove all those miles legally how much home time did you get? Was there a vacation in there? and who's really working their arse to the bone to make late 1980's pay?
My Answers:
156,000 miles a year
$35,880 at $.23
To make $40,000 at $.23CPM I had to drive 173,913.04 miles a year and that would be pushing the HOS because we all know that only on paper can you do that many miles in a week because at least one shipper and receiver is going to take you all day to drop that load or load it and that it will happen at least 10 times a year. This is also without taking any time off! So NO you will not be in compliance with FMCSA HOS rules! You'll be over sometime each month!
NOW 156,000 miles at REAL pay of the 20's that covers COLA to this century you would have made $62,400! And that's less than what what I was making in 2007!
Next question. Do you get a yearly COLA like the owner of your company did? ROFLMFAOACGU! -
Picky about who they hire? Other then the usual regiments of pass on wk history- pe-ua- road test and drive record, They are no harder to sign on with then any other outfit.
A driver I keep in touch with was turned down elsewhere because of being out of truck for awhile. Signed on with Schneider with 1 year exp says he started at .34pm out of French Camp. Schneider said west region 6mos then Sears ded west coast. Never ran west region except to get to IL or WI. Then was told no go on the Sears ded. Worked there 9mo's and left. Said company was ok but they lied to him, just like the OP and was not interested in driving 48. -
I guess the water has been muddied enough that I can throw in my two cents.
I started with sni based on what I perceived as tbheir safety record. I have never drove for anyone else, so I can not make comparisons. However, I have been happily working for sni for eight or nine months. I started dedicated and left that easily averaging about $850_$900, with accessory pay, per diem, and hard work. I gave it all away to work on a local dedicated account with sni (which pays a little less). I can't sit here and think of a time when sni lied to me. There have been mistakes and miscommunications, but they were always resolved fairly quickly. For me, sni has been the best choice for me and my family.
Raid3rSHC Thanks this. -
I agree with Raid3r............ i worked for them for 7 years, and 5yrs as a leased O/O and never had a single problem. Made great money and they were always fair with me. I ran out of the Gary, IN OC and did Wal-Mart dedicated, bulk and the truck rail as O/O for the last 5yrs till I went to their "Choice program" which was great.
