I have contracted with Schneider and use the 65% of load program. I pick my own freight, destination, and revenue for the truck. I get home on weekends and make a Great living. Its all in the plan! I try to average 12000 to 13000 per month, which is the revenue mark I have chosen. They give you the proper tool, but you have to understand, their rules are there rules! Its worked out for me. Ive been involved with them for many years, and its been a very solid relationship. Take it for what its worth.

Y2K Thanks this. -
I have just completed the program at Schneider. I was waiting for the TE to call me and when he did, the first thing he indicated was that speeding was necessary for us to do the job. I thought that was kind of strange to be telling a rookie like me. I won't be going out with this TE, I will request another one. Everything Schneider was teaching us in class the TE was suggesting the complete opposite. I am as of right now a Schneider driver. I have my driver number and my fuel card, but I won't be going out with this TE. It is my license and I'm not risking an accident or points cause the TE needs to make the drops.

I think you are on the right track asking for someone different if you are no comfortable with him.
Stick with what the company says is policy and drive your own drive.
Maybe he just meant running 3-5 mph over like most of us do if our trucks will do it.
I can't speed most places in my May truck, she'll only do 60 with the gov lol.
I doubt I'll have to be with a trainer more than a few days since I'm already a driver and not just out of school.
It will be mostly to learn the Schneider ropes and being this is a dedicated account it should be pretty simple.
I'll only be hauling Dollar Tree and only from Ridgefeild,WA.
I will have to spend a week in Fontana,CA (UGG!) for orientation but that's no biggie. -
From what I have learned on the Schneider truck, this is simply not true. The trucks will do more than 60, just that when you go over the governed speed the qualcom beeps at you and records what speed your going, but it doesn't stop you from speeding. I reached over 60 on the interstate in the truck I was driving. Speed limit was 70 on the interstate so I was not legally speeding, but the trainer told me that the qualcom was beeping at me and to slow it down.

The last that I heard, team trucks will do 65, solo's with cruise 60, foot in it, 63, which I use when passing a slower truck, just to get out the way. As far as the QC beeping at you, just turn down the volume. You will never hear it.

Don't know about Schneider trucks buy my May truck definitely won't do over 60 unless it's a downhill grade.
It's a real PITA trying to pass a 58 mph truck on I-5 lol.

Speeding is part of the deal. You go off and believe everything they tell you and you will be both poor and unemployed.
Solo trucks roll to 59, but down hill they want it up to 69.
Team Trucks roll 65 all day long. Same speed downhill.
The QC beeps and you will get a note in your Inbox. You learn to drive that thing their way or No Bonus for you.
The TE is correct. Everything you will learn in Orientation is "How" they want it done. Everything your TE teaches you is how to get it done and get paid for it.
It's a two headed snake. You can make money, but you will wonder if it is worth the garbage that it takes to get it.
Fontana is OK. It's nice and warm here now.
Take off the Orange Boxers. It's a job, not Nirvana. -
We have our app in now. We seem to have a good chance to get the job, and their bulk division is the highest paid of all of their divisions. Fingers crossed...
