I live less that an hour from there. I was on the way home and was tired. Laid down for a nap at boomland. Wife called where are you? Almost home. Whtacha doing? Napping. Where? Boomland. Where is boomland. Less than 60 miles. Why are you stopped there then? Tired and don't wanna cross the bridge. Then she seen it one day on the motorcycle. Ahhh. that's why...![]()

I crossed that bridge a few times when I lived in west TN and took trips into sothern IL and MO area.

Okay, thanks. I was trying to remember and grabbed a map. I remembered running through LaCrosse and when you turn right, you run 3-4 miles before you get to the bridge. There was a small grain town on the west side. Maybe it was Marquette? I cut through there a couple times heading to Waterloo. The first time through I met a tanker on the bridge. Luckily he knew what he was doing. Not much room for error there.

Here's the other bridge that they 'widened'...

there is NO room for error, is there?

Here is one I captured.... I can't remember the road. But I was crossing out of Missouri into Kansas up there around St. Joeseph, MO. Maybe US-36?

Narrow bridges are every where. The bridges mentioned in the original post were my favorite to cross... I love bridges!!!
This one here is 5 miles from my house. Crossed it with every vehicle except for a big truck. Then when I bought this Volvo I found a decal shop in Jasper, TN to do the lettering. Not because they were the best, but because it gave me the opportunity to cross this bridge with my big truck.
You can see this bridge off I-24 in Tennessee. About mile marker 160 or so I-24 will carry you over Lake Nickajack. Look to the north & you'll see this wonderful peice of metal. This pic was taken during the Trail of Tears Motorcycle Ride.... I took over 900 picture in just an hour that day!
bulldozerbert Thanks this. -
Anybody that has ever crossed that bridge your not far from good eats with truck parking there at boomland. You can get plenty for about 5-7 bucks. Made the mistake of taking my wife there. She likes to shop there. Pretty big place.

Probably didn't have a driver's mirror left if they met another big truck!!!
Oh man.... I remember running over that bridge in my rookie year.... I was sweating badly just from the stress of meeting other big trucks.
Another Bridge is the Huey P Long Bridge. It is a divided 4 lane bridge. But it is so #### narrow... A big truck not only takes his own lane, but a third if not a half of the other lane as well.

you know instead of repairing the bridge they need tear the sucker down and build a wider one. the one caddy-corner on the 51/60 crossing south across the Ohio from Il to Ky is just as wide. Any time i cross to or from ky haulin paper from the mill i only do 30mph with 4ways on. I aint takin the risk of being killed over some idiot runnin 50 across there with only about enough room to miss mirrors and miss the beams.
