Just like those pesky low bridge and weight limit signs for bridges and roads. :biggrin_2559:

I'd call the phone number on the ticket and ask IF paid early, would there be a reduction in the ticket cost.I did that w/a radar detector ticket in my big truck that was written by the South Carolina DOT and it went from $250 AFTER 28 days down to $100 IF paid before that 28 day period. That was in July 2010,not that long ago.Yeah i do need to upgrade to a Bell STI Driver not that the Bell I have now is a slouch. But anyways-
Obviously I paid the $100 that week. Take the chance and call as you just never know.
In the future, consider spending LESS of your money in the state of michigan not unlike when I go to Ohio and Indiana. Those two states seem to hate truckers so i do my part and buy fuel before entering either and spending as little as i can while in them.

Regarding the sarcastic replies and the "no parking"signs posted in that lot,I am sure that those drivers have never parked in an area that was posted as off limits.I am positive that they have never run over the legal number of hours or fudged on their logs(prob electronic now but even before they decided to drive for an outfit that uses electronic logs),have never exceeded the speed limit even if the truck they drive won't run but 62 mph as they do go thru construction zones and travel 47 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Just saying as there are times that all of us do things that are not necessarily legal while driving a cmv, even those stickler drivers that are straight up company and portray that they are by the book. The very first thing that comes to my mind is the drivers that will not keep their slow trucks in the right lane even when the signs along the highway state that they do just that.Running 61-65 in the truck hammer lane in a posted 70 mph zone means that they are breaking the law.I guess that means they can't read huh.

" I don't understand the mentality". "It is one of my pet peeves" as directly quoted.Right driver.I am sure that you have NEVER ever broken any law while piloting that cmv that you drive in the 15 years that you have been driving.
OKAY I am off my soapbox so best of luck on the ticket. Please don't just pay it before calling and inquiring.

yeah the owners of those lots will very often find damage to the property like smashed light poles, fences traffic islands....up here in CT at x 51 is a Sunoco gas station open 24 hours, i used to pull into....the lot aside the gas station, like dozens of others each night....

what seemed like all of a sudden, cops the next night, no parking signs....

so for you, pay the tickets, no points, and look for another DD or even a 24 hours gas station that sells coffee...it s cheaper than DD coffee anyways...!!!

The last company we worked for, we figured this up. In NYC its actually cheaper to pay 1 parking ticket than feed 4 parking meters for 5 or 6 hours. Plus the fact that once you've resolved yourself to double parking in NYC, finding a parking spot is easy as falling off a log.:biggrin_2559:

$75 for a parking ticket in Niagra Falls in my pickup a few years back, when I refused to pay it and they sent it to collections, it ended up costing me $150.00. I sent it to the collection agency postage due $.39 on $.40 letter. No return address so they had to open it. Yeah it was a penny, but it some what made me feel better.

Here's stupidity for you. Colorado requires two license plates on 4-wheelers, unless the vehicle came from the factory without a front license plate location (Bugatti and a couple of others). The City and County of Denver is the only place in the state that enforces this via their Parking Management idiots. $65.00 fine and if you don't pay it within 20 days, they send you a reminder, if you don't pay it within 30 days of that letter they turn it over to collections and it triples. We once got one on the semi because we only have one plate, when we pointed out to the Parking Magistrate that Colorado only issues ONE FREAKIN' plate for semi's, the Magistrate said that wasn't her problem.

If you did take the ticket to court, what would be your defense? Yes, your Honor, I did see the two "no parking" signs, as I did the 15 times that I previously parked there illegally, but the officer made a mistake on the year of my truck... I do not see that having a happy ending for you. Yes we have all done the same thing or something just as stupid, I agree. However, I know the risk when I do them and don't try to make it someone elses fault when I get caught. If it was me, I'd take my lumps and pay the ticket.

You are assuming that they'll volunteer the info that they have indeed parked there before. In an instance like that, would you volunteer incriminating evidence or would you plead ignorance?

We all desire to do the right thing BUT there are exceptions to doing just that.I for one would keep my mouth shut. How about you?

Yes, I agree. I would keep my mouth shut and pay the ticket so that I don't look dumb in court and end up adding $150 in court costs to the $75 ticket. All I'm saying is take responsibility for your actions.

I do think sometimes it is unfair to target trucks as much as they do. I mean, a trucker wants a quick coffee or a bite to eat or needs to be on the side of the road to load/unload and they get ticketed. Its understandable if they are causing some major disruption like blocking traffic but there are only so many places a 60+ foot vehicle fits. I see em all the time at fast food joints or other small places parked along a row of spaces. I cant blame them for it. I understand those dont say "No Parking" but at the same time, they are stealing potential customer parking spaces.
