If you are going to purchase a 6/7/8 car trailer, try to catch a motivated seller. Easier said than done I know, but upwards of 35 grand for a 6 to 7 year old trailer is nuts. Have no idea how they get any of them sold at that rate.

Or if you can sell your tractor, Walleye has or had a nice set up to get you fixed up with!:)

Most companies pay either a % of what the total cost of the load is or cents per mile per car. I work for Waggoneers and they pay 7~11 cents per miles per unit which equals out to close to $1.00 per mile sometimes more. Plus we get a bonus every 4 months for driving an older truck (Older then 3 years I think) which is a a % of what the truck has made for the 4 months plus you get paid another check every 4 months for vacation time (equals out for 4 weeks of paid vacation per year but paid each quarter not when you take the time off). A decent week you can make about 800.00 on a good week (depending if your lazy or not and quick at the job) you can bring home 1500.00. Good thing with hauling cars is it is a challenge and demanding. It is MUCH better then hauling reefer, flatbed, etc. Those jobs you basically sit and drive that is it and the most movement you get in a day is walking to a buffet. Another good point is the pay is quite nice compare .30~.35 per mile to 1.00 or more (O/O make about 2.08 per mile plus fuel surcharge and there are O/O is make roughly 200k a year but they are out of months at a time and run very very hard)

Anyways car hauling is in my opinion the best trucking job. Pay is great, home time is decent, and its just plain fun.

First I want to say sorry for my last post as Dweir09. I am new to this forum and not sure how to delete my postings that I don't want. I changed accounts so it doesn't include my last name in part of my username.... anyways I reported my last post so I hope it gets deleted so I am posting the same post under my new account name.

Wait till the NEW of driving for Wayne Waggonner wears off and your checks are in the $500.00 range.

That's the company line of BS you're spouting.....drank the "Koolaid" didn't you?

Or that "Older" truck is in the shop more than it's out of the shop.

Remember.......under load or not.......your priority for repair isn't first.
Unless that's changed....I doubt it has. Those oilfield trucks are where
    the money is......think about it.

I loved hauling cars.....but make an escape from where you're working quickly.

To answer the other person's post about pay. I do local now (after 13 yrs OTR reefer). Auto is new to me, I like it, and I get $9 per car to move them, never go far. I do about 4 loads a day.

Umm, thread has not been updated in 3 ¾ years.

I don’t think anyone is still waiting for a question to be answered.
