Currently sitting at the T/A in Seville, OH taking my 10. Thursday deadheaded from Randolph, MA to Versailles, CT to pick up a paper load to take to Trenton. I got home time for Monday. My dispatcher had me pre-planned on a load out of Trenton to Chicago for 0400 delivery to Chicago Beverage to get me one last run in before my home time. Just finished my log and I won't have enough hours to run it, grrrrrrrrr. I wanted the extra miles before I take a few days off.

My dispatcher is treating me right up to this point. I communicate a lot with him to let him know what all is going on with me and to build the relationship and to hopefully build brownie points so he will keep me busy. I also actually sent him a message yesterday and said "hey, thanks for the work you do for me getting me loads". Gotta butter your bread every now and then, lol.

So I guess at this point I will be taking my home time a day early than expected.

Next time take 220 to Roanoke then 81N to 78E to 287N all the way to 87n to 84E Hardford to 90E to boston to 95 to 93 then to your exit 5 down threw town... used to run it all the time.. miles are a little longer but time wise its the same and no NEW YORK CITY MESS... wise use of your 70 is how you get paid..Good luck next time Also you can park there overnight park along the RRtracks to your left right as you pull in... Also as long as you get the load there B-4 1500 they will always take it appt time really doesnt mean much there.. later good luck

I hear ya on the time.....it's hard to manage sometimes. Sorry I didnt get those directions to you sooner. Keep those because you'll get a load of paper out of the SCA which is right down the street from Chicago Bev.

Hopefully next time we meet up we can hang out a litttle - seems we are always going in different directions and in a hurry!

Chicago beverage is one I'd feel lucky to have to run.

Thanks for the tips. It was just a bad trip from the start. A lesson learned for sure. I try to get the most out of my 70 but the weather I've been running in the past couple of weeks sure has made it a challenge.

Took 3 days off for a bit of rest. I had been out 3 weeks and was time to see momma. Loaded up yesterday (Wed) in Trenton with beer and now am sitting in the dock getting unloaded in Raleigh, NC. I asked dispatcher to send me anywhere but the North East. That's all I've been running the past 3 weeks. Tired of seeing the white crap.

I'm hoping he'll load me down with miles since I took a few days off. You gotta take time off but it really hits you in the wallet sometimes. Anyways, drive safe all and will update again soon.

Getting loaded in Lexington, NC to head to Albany, GA. Kind of scary heading in there on a Friday. 11:30 appt time so I'll be buggin my dispatcher for a long haul over the weekend to try and get some miles. If that don't happen my check is going to look pretty sad next week. Guys talking of 3500 +..... my dispatcher must not like me, lol. I hit 3200 once thus far.

Just a tip and I mean nothing by this - but your prior post said "told my dispatcher to run me anywhere but the NE". My trainer told be my first day - never complain, refuse or ask for a certain type of run. Run what ever comes across your screen. Whem I met my dispatcher he told me the same thing.

So what I am saying is maybe all the longer runs were in the NE. I can tell you that I have run a lot of short run lately and all have been in the Midwest and NE.

I hear ya, but actually it was "any direction but the NE would be fine with me if you have it". Also told him I would run whatever he had if he didn't. I hope we're on pretty good terms at this point. I think he knows I won't refuse anything he shoots me. All is good!

Starting off a new week! Picked up in Eden, NC Saturday for a Monday delivery in Columbia City, IN. Dead headed me to Cincinnati, picked up a load of soap to take to guess where???? Pontoon Beach, IL. I'm headed for that crappy storm everybody is talking about, lol. I'm currently on the west side of Indy camping out for the night in a rest area. Roads weren't too terribly bad.

I'm looking forward to a very productive week. I can feel it in my bones. Even with the weather I think it's going to turn out ok.

After picking up in Cincy I shot off to the T/A in Florence, KY to fuel up and scale out. Also got to spend a couple of hours with my lovely wife, so off to a great start thus far.

Guys and gals be safe out there if you are anywhere near the bad weather. Slow down and/or get off the road if you're not feeling comfortable. Arrive safely!

    Hitman Thanks this.
