I think it is funny that if you break the lease it will ding your credit.
But if you pay off the lease and finish it, then it will not help your credit.
This is because you are leasing a truck that is leased to Central. So Central is getting better credit. But they will not report your payments to the credit agency. Only your lack of payments.
And really they do not even get you for lack of payments or breaking the lease.
What they ding you for is not paying all the crap they make up out of nowhere that they say you owe them for.
They will inspect the truck and charge you for any little scratch. New tires, and everything else they can think of.
At this point they empty your maintenance acct. Then try and charge you for what is left.
Trust me, they will think of something.
Then they will charge you for however many months of lease payments they like, they can charge the full time if they want too.
And they will lease the thing to someone else, and get the money from them also.
Plus they will not have fixed any of the things that they charged you for.jess-juju, The Challenger and rookietrucker Thank this. -
Speaking of... (this is NOT aimed at you Niners77)
But where the HELL is Central getting these drivers from?
The guy we just did the re-power for. He picked up this load in Northern California and made it to Barstow, CA.
We swapped trailers with him (we was empty) and this.... this IDIOT!
Had 38,840# on his trailer tandums. We came real close to giving it back to him and telling him to take it himself.
We spent an hour adjusting the tandums and sliding the fifthwheel so that we had 34,200# on the drivers and 33,600# on the trailer's tandums.... we had to stop every 200 to 250 miles to get fuel so we would not be too far over on the tandums.
Then the DM kept asking us for a Macro 6 on the load.... Three times yesterday and once last night at about 1:00am...
The funny thing is, we were not to deliver till 5am. I pulled into Walmart DC at 2:00am. The guy at the gate said we were too early. I told him we were not told of an appointment. I told him we took the load from a driver that was out of driving time in Barstow, Ca. 30 hours ago and that we were just told that the load was late and to 'haul balls' Il. to deliver it... He made a phone call and we went straight in and delivered it... and hour later we were done...
But back to my orginal thought, Isn't Cental training these new guys on loads? -

He will get up out of the sleeper an set in the right seat and turn the heat on the heater off and open the window. Then go back into the sleeper... I had a cold now for the last close to 3 weeks...
I'll just be glad to upgrade and get a truck of my own (till LadyK joins me).
I hate to say it but I am really starting to think that he is on of the trainers that is just in the training for the the team miles.Lady K and The Challenger Thank this. -
They also, said that you can walk away from your lease at anytime.... But if you did, you would forfit any of the impound $$ you have paid in. They would prefer you stuck it out.... I also, over heard recruiting, tell someone that because they didn't complete their lease they would not be taken back as a company driver. -
ThanksThe Challenger Thanks this. -
I am about to be put out with a trainer and we have basically no idea what to do about weight distribution. We have mentioned it and been told we would be taught all of that by the trainers on the road. I guess it is just one of those things that gets minimal time with the "accelerated" course here at Central. About the only thing I can hope for is that my trainer has it figured out and will teach, teach, teach and be patient.
