That's actually a pretty good show, but then I'm a long time Biggest Loser fan, so obviously I enjoy that stuff. It's inspirational.

And the lump of fat hanging out of Tom's shorts is called a lymphedema- it's what happens when over 400 lbs of fat has no where else to go. It's a pocket of fat off his thigh.

You would be shocked at the Patients we have hauled since 2003.

Several could not be put on the stretcher.
We had a 8X10 tarp, just like on flatbed trucks, with hanndles and straps built in.

Stretcher was removed, and we hauled them on the floor of ambulance.

Many filled the whole floor area.

    it's a SAD sad world.

    I'm currently pretty heavy myself.
    5'6" and 235#
(and on a diet for sure)

    1nonly Thanks this.

Does the fact they don't fit on the stretcher ever inspire any of them to change their life?

I remember a story I heard once. A very large man had come into a restaurant and he couldn't fit in their chairs. So the manager decided to fix that, and put in an order for a few oversized chairs so when very very fat people came in to eat, he could seat them comfortably. The large man who had come into the restaurant came back and the manager noticed he had lost a lot of weight. The man said it was being unable to fit into the chair that inspired him to take the weight off.

So is it a good idea to buy oversized chairs or a bad idea?

my wife had to move around some oversize ones in the hospital--they couldnt sit up,getup or basically do anything except eat---a very good way to wreck your back --was bad enough that she transferred to another floor

Great for business because pretty soon you may have the only chairs large/sturdy enough to hold them! You may as well capitalize on it because few if any are going to change their ways.
