Truckers for a Cause will host an educational conference call on "Do's and Don'ts of submitting comments to FMCSA"
John Hill, former FMCSA Administrator will be joined by Joe Rajkovacz, Director of Regulatory Affairs for OOIDA for a 30 minute discussion followed by questions and answers.
This conference call is designed for working truck drivers who would like to make more effective comments to FMCSA on a regulatory docket. With FMCSA seeking comments on both hours of service and cell phone use this is a good time to get involved with the process.
The session will cover practical Do's and Don'ts like:
DO: Read the NPRM (Notice of Proposed Rulemaking) for yourself.
Don't: Base your comments on what you heard about it from other truck drivers.
DO: Make your comments polite and respectful.
Don't: Forget to run spelll check.
This conference call WILL NOT be a forum for discussing the specifics of rules currently out for comment. It is designed to help drivers to feel comfortable with the comment process, understand how FMCSA uses comments, and to help drivers make comments that will influence FMCSA. We will also discuss the importance of working drivers getting involved with the FMCSA regulatory comment process.
After the call we will post a listing of internet resources drivers can consider using for writing, editing, and getting others to help double check their comments prior to submitting them to FMCSA. This will be available at www.truckersforacause.com
There is no charge for participating in the call and we even scheduled it on a Saturday to let you take advantage of free night and weekend cell phone minutes.
DATE: Saturday January 22, 2011
TIME 12:00 noon Central Time
To participate call (712) 432-5015. Use access code 350926# for this conference call.
If you can't make the call it will be recorded and available later through the meeting archives at www.truckersforacause.com
Truckers for a Cause and the Truckers for a Cause chapter of A. W. A. K. E. are driver led support groups educating and helping drivers with health issues. This is a special session set up due to the availability of the speakers and the importance of the topic for all drivers

4,000,000 truck drivers in the USA, and only 4988 of them have commented on the new HOS proposal to date. Guess they like the proposal as it stands. That comment server should be flooded with comments by now.
-
No big shock. As usual most people complain about something but do nothing about it.
-
That would mean they would have to pony up and actually DO something rather than just b!t*h about it.
-
6 million could comment. The government will do what they want.
It was the same when they have made other changes.
I would be willing to bet that even though the comment period is open, they have been in the process of getting these finalized and ready to print.truckerdave1970, zentrucking and Lilbit Thank this. -

The government could care less what Americans think unless we collectively have the balls to stand together and physically fight for what we believe is right. Since 50% of our great countrymen are now on anti-depressants, whether by choice or by force, we are screwed. The government has drugged their competition. Ever wonder why most people seem so idiotic? And just think, anti-depressants don't automatically disqualify ANYONE from driving a truck...

and just look at our kids, starting as early as age 5 on psychotropic medication to "modify" their behavior? Or keep them compliant little sheep!!!
Just remember, the goobermint is only here to help us!!! -
I have sat back and watched the masses walk like sheep straight down the slaughter chute following one "leader" after another. I laugh when people try to talk politics with me because there is no difference between parties, they are both ultimately controlled by the same entities. I will continue to keep to myself and prepare, warning those who walk by even in their 60 HZ Trance... Lol
