SRT currently has about 500 trucks. Yes we do still run full height condos (in fact I'm in one right now.) The truck color is being phased over to white (which I'm sad about, I like purple.) I'm not sure about the acctual extent of our conection with Covenant, I do know that they bailed SRT out of some financial problems six or seven years ago, we use their yards (but we pay for the space), and we share a quaalcomm system. But as far as I know they have no control over SRT. SRT is owned by Tony Smith.
I have been driving for SRT for two and a half years as a team with my husband. It is a good company, and getting better. They just built a new yard north of Texarkana on I-30, you can't miss it if you drive past. Look for the huge glass atrium around mm9 in Arkansas. Mr. Smith has plans to expand the fleet to 1000 trucks over the next few years.
My husband and I are on the driver executive commity, which acts as a liason between the drivers and the company to try to make sure any problems the drivers have are being addressed, and yes, upper management really does listen.
We get plenty of miles, have never had a problem getting home (even though "home" is in three different places), and we were even allowed to park our truck at the covnant yard in LA while we flew to Hawaii last year.
They company even pays for IdleAir.

I currently work for SRT.The miles are way down for most.At this time of the year the industry is going gang busters to the end of the year.They do have good open door policy,and the president is always open to talk to the drivers.
Although they've lost alot of drivers as of late due to low miles,they also fired 4 dispatchers lately because of the way the were treating the drivers. -
I asked because I see a lot of SRT Flat tops or mid roofs.

Do you think solos are treated the same as a team operation when it come to getting miles, time off, and were they can leave a truck at SRT?
I've been driving class A since 91 solo,team,reg, local and have never seen that to be the case. If SRT gave their solo's the same consideration and perks they give teams, that would certianly be out of the norm.
Personally I will not work for a company anymore that has teams, becuase I don't like covering their frt for them so they can make the miles, while I sit waiting for another dispatch at the bottom of the load board. I'm sure many solo's can attest to that being the norm at companies with team operations.

My school was visited by an SRT driver/trainer/(recruiter) this week. Very nice guy, had lots of good nformation about SRT and driving in general. I believe that probably SRT is a good company to work for-------but better for an experienced driver.
They have nearly the same training schedule that covenant has. roughly a month with a trainer (at .14 permile), then another month with another driver of similar experience (240 hours) at .18 per mile.
Now, I dont mind making less money for driving during training----with an instructor that is, but I dont like taking it in the pocket book to have another student sleeping in the berth while we run as a team.
The co. I chose to go with pays .20 a mile OR a per diem during training (which ever is greater), AND the trainer is awake, sitting in the jump seat all the time. They have a minimum of 9500 miles training (minimum---may be longer if you still cant pass the road test.)
