So useing your theory drivers should leave an expensive depreciating asset in the driver's parking lot so "your guy" is comfortable where he is applying for work. Sure, makes sense to me.

ps: My 2000 GMC 1/2 ton is my winter vehicle, in the summer time I drive a 1984 Buick Le Sabre that I bought in an estate sale 5 years ago. I'd sooner INVEST my money in myself (property/retirement) than something that depreciates.

Ok you guys calm down. It appears some people have missed the entire point. Yes I learned years ago how to deduce many things simply by examining the things that they have a direct effect on. In this scenario the people that a trucking company employs. I know many real good companies and if you look in there parking lot the drivers cars reflect the wages they earn. There is nothing complicated about it's just natural progression.
Similiarly I have driven into many yards (and right back out) where it was obvious by the beaters the drivers were driving that the guys weren't making what they should be. Then I'd ask around about them and sure enough it would be one horror story after the other. The usual stuff , low rates , shorting miles , I always got a kik out of the (you unload or load and the first 2 hours are free)..That's when I've told more that one company to close there eyes ...everything they see is free...So needless to say they didn't like my attitude. But what they really meant is #### ...we can't baffle this one with our ######## and lies..So anyway guys don't take my word for it. Try observing these things and you'll see i'm right.
