I was driving up I-35 from Dallas and I was constantly losing my signal and channels were having to reload. Apparently, there was a nationwide outage.

NEW YORK (AP) -- With XM Satellite Radio service outages entering a second day Tuesday, subscribers from around the country posted increasingly frustrated messages on user Web sites and analysts started raising the prospect of potential cancellations.

XM on Monday said some customers had their service disrupted due to software problems, beginning around noon Eastern Time. The company did not say how many of its 8 million subscribers were affected, but said it expected the problem to be fixed by Monday evening.

Overnight, some subscribers received an e-mail message that anticipated "full signal strength will be restored by early Tuesday morning."

    Which Censorship??
Are you talking about "suspending" of Opie and Anthony for the skit where a "homeless man" was saying how he would like to beat Condalesa Rice while raping her? Or perhaps when the same "homeless man" said he would like to rape Laura Bush or Queen Elisabeth?
While I do believe in free speach, this goes far beyond what is acceptable. I would have cancelled my subscription had they NOT "censored" these poor excuses for humans.
Since XM is a PUBLIC business and responsible to their SHARE-HOLDERS, they have the right to suspend or fire anyone who doesn't accurately represent the ideals of their company. That isnt "censorship". It is BUSINESS.

I have been having 'reception" problems for a couple weeks now. Particularly on Channels 165, 152 and 124.

    1. This was not a "skit"

    2. 40,000 people had canceled as of Friday.

    3. It is a comedy show, no topic is off limits.

    4. XM's XL comedy channel routinely plays material from comedians, making light of rape and violence.

    5. XM, broadcasts Rap music, with violence, violent sexual material, and a perpetuation of stereotypes.

    XM is a PAY SERVICE!!!!

You dont see HBO canceling shows, or suspending them for inappropriate material.

I will comment more later, I am driving.

First of all, the 'First Amendment' pertains ONLY to the Government silencing "Free Speech" (and says nothing about public or private corporations)

    From: http://usinfo.state.gov/usa/infousa/facts/funddocs/billeng.htm
    Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

That does NOT say that a Private Company (or one Publicly Held) cannot SUSPEND OR FIRE someone for saying something as outrageous a Opie and Anthony did on their show. That is NOT CENSORSHIP. It is BUSINESS.
Plain and simple. X-M has the RIGHT to SUSPEND OR FIRE (for ANY reason) anyone they chose.
Publicly held companies have a FEDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY to their share-holders to make money. Companies profits go down when advertisers drop and people cancel their subscriptions. 40,000 people cancelling their subscriptions IS NOT censorship, it is just 40,000 people "voting with their dollars" If I don't happen to like a particular band, and I dont buy their records....that is voting with my dollars and NOT censorship. Why should I eat hamburger when I prefer steak?

X-M Music channels are AD FREE, same with HBO/CINEMAX/SHOWTIME. THAT is what draws customers.
Talk shows/variety shows/comedy shows on X-M are advertiser based.

For those that have XM service, the corporation is going to make good on the programming loss according to the news blurbs I have been reading. I don't have either paid service so I didn't miss it. I have friends that do and I don't know how they are reacting to O&A being suspended, I'll have to ask.

I had problems with reception, channels had to load multiple times. I was home so I kept trying to move the antenna, not knowing what was going on. Of course that did not work. But I did recieve an email the next morning, and have had no problems since! I still love the service, this is the first problem I have had with it. I have not herd any reports about them making it right with their customers, but then we dont have TV, so I would not hear that unless it was a report on XM, or an email from them.

As far as opie and anthony, I didnt listen to them anyways. I did tune in to their show one time, and did not care for it. No big loss here.
