Which bank would you recommend for being the best for an OTR driver?

The bank I am with right now are a bunch of ignorant morons that shutdown my card at the drop of a hat because they think everything is fraudulent. In addition the hold my direct deposit causing my charges that scheduled for payday to get turned down... nice.

Interested to see what everyone has to say. In addition it would be nice to find one that doesn't charge me a bs fee every time I go to an atm at a truck stop...

I am happy with chase...but not sure how they handle OTR expenses. Seems there are branches everywhere tho.

You def. don't need that crap.Seems like lots of banks "freeze" cards rather than call to see if you were the one getting fuel in an unusual place etc...I have BB&T and they always call if they think something is up but I really don't know if they are located whare you'd need them.I know they are in Va maybe farther North all the way down to Florida. Haven't checked off East coast yet. Flying D. is rite about Chase. They do have lots of locations.

Not to mention most Walgreens and other T/s have ATM's in them as well from chase. I am a local driver, but I went 2 weeks in and out of southern CA from northern CA without so much as a phone call. Coffee in Modesto and dinner in Buena Park, never heard a thing.

I like Wells Fargo. My experience has been outstanding, especially when using quicken and their electronic bill paying function. Using their debit card hasn't created any problems during my OTR career.

If you don't have a business account, communication with your bank is the key. Get with the manager of your local branch, tell him or her you are OTR and will have unusual charges (my bank calls it a "positional issue") - based on the irregular pattern of charging/ATM use in different areas of the country at different times.

You also need to tell them if you are buying fuel - large transactional amounts in different areas will also trigger a security alert.

In addition to noting your account of these facts, if it's a debit card, most banks will agree to increase your per-day charging limit and cash withdrawal limit for a period of time, provided your deposits are timely and you have no overdrafts.

Most banks are ignorant of the needs of OTR drivers; not really their fault but YOU need to educate them - I did, and I've had no problems....
