Yup... no A/C, armstrong power steering, hand cranked windows, Air ride trucks??? oh wait, nope...long hoods... not so much, except west coast... sleeping on doghouses with windows open for a breeze!!! Big horsepower too... 318 detroits were all the rage in the mid 70's when I started... yeah I gotta say I miss those days.... NOT!!! Except one thing I do miss... DOT was nicer, not so many of them either, and they KNEW we ran 2-3 logs to get the job done!!! The worst part though was all the extra paperwork we had to carry, every state had their own registration or cabcard/bingo sticker you had to have.... and fines were paid on the spot most of the time.... BUT, we did have 2,3 maybe 4 licenses to get by with cause most states didn't have reciprosity(sp) so you could hide behind the different licenses....

YEAH...FUN TIMES!!!! So who has the time machine????

This misconception is almost as old as time itself - that, because things were different, they were better. There were people in the 50's, 60's, & 70's all saying the same thing. It's been happening forever... Crime, greed, brutality, infidelity, hucksters, disease, incompetence, war, political scandal, poverty - nothing new under the Sun. It's only the 24/7 availability to news and communication that makes everything seem more prevalent these days. That and the massive increase in population. More people = more chance you run into the bad ones.

Makes one wonder what the old wagon train and pony express folks would think about all this, huh? :biggrin_25521:

But, for the record, I do prefer a nice clean HOT shower over bathing in a river. That said, my cabin bathroom is actually smaller than some truckstop showers, from the photos I've seen. It's almost RV sized, just a sink, toilet, and shower stall. The last plumber who came out had a really tough time getting in there to work.

Pilot had to sell those locations for final government approval for the merger. That way multiple pilots/J's in the vicinity couldn't artificially motive prices and run other stations out of business... honestly, they will... this just makes it harder.

That's the point we are trying to make; "truck parking". How about ENOUGH truck parking. Hells bells A/T, how many Loves have 'enough' parking? Name where they are at, please.

LOVES SUCKS, for the most part. :biggrin_25514:

Opinion? Not if 10 parking spaces in most of them is what is considered a 'truck stop'. It is a convenience store, with a little bit of parking.

Email the bostwards,,,and let 'em know we need more parking spaces. Or not.

    Another waste of Bandwidth:biggrin_25523:

No truck stop will ever have enough parking....I do agree that I hate pulling into a TS and seeing that they only have 10-15 spots.

Only thing worse is to find them all full.
