i was thinking about doing lease/op but haven't heard real great things about it. i would be teaming with my buddy so it wouldn't be that bad. my trainer was a lease/op and he was making some very decent money. ill have to look more into it. i need more hometime then 4 days a month. but as a lease/op you pick your own hometime dont u?

It doesn't sound like the lease op is for you. You can pick your hometime, but how are you going to pay for your truck? You get charged weekly, whether you are working or not. Most lease ops I know stay out 3 months at a time.

Also, you will have to pay your buddy out of your own pocket.

As a lease op at Crst you also have to pay your own taxes and health insurance

    Hi All,

First, let me just say that I have been driving for CRST for about 8 months now. My husband and I are a team, and I really don't have any real issues except one. I agree with some drivers out there about maintenance they do have some serious issues. Secondly, I have heard some nightmares about new drivers, but I do believe it is the trainers who have ####y attitudes. You have to be paired up with an individual who will have patience and understanding. Remember all you experienced drivers, you were new at one time and please do not tell me you didn’t feel uncomfortable about driving in ice or snow, or what the conditions were. Every company is going to have their problems or issues no matter what. I have had no real issues with payroll, and I have a fantastic dispatcher. It is all about your attitude and whether or not you are willing to work as a team, and run hard to make some decent money. With that said, I hope that you have a great day, and please drive safe.

    Hi,

My husband and I lease a truck through CRST, we do make money. And for the hometime we can choose when we want to go home. We go home every month for about to days sometimes longer. The way we can afford to do this is save money and you will not get behind on your payments.

I have been with CRST and I am thinking of going back...I miss seeing parts of the country I would not have seen.
I have had good trainers and a few questionable ones.
Money wise...not the greatest(true for most of the people--a few have made $$$).
I have to look at it like this--I need the darn experience..darn it....
what may work for one person may be an ill fit for another....
