Its not the road its what under them. MI roads suck cause of sand. Hauling heavy doesn't help it either.
Canada weight laws are a little different than MI thats for sure. I know when I ran up there I never worried about the weight I had on.
Specs for a B-Train Hauler?

Michigan weights are pretty simple to figure. If you exceed 80,000 lbs OR the trailer tandems exceed 34,000 lbs the drives must not exceed 32,000 lbs. It isn't generally enforced but it is on the books.
Groups of axles get 13,000 lbs per axle, so a tridem (group of 3) gets 39,000 lbs and a tandem gets....26,000 lbs EXCEPT one set of tandems can go to 32,000 (usually the drives. Axles with a 9' spacing get 18,000 and axles with 10' spacing get 20,000. Steer axles go up to 20,000 (I think) and maximum gross is164,000 and a straight trailer can't have more than 8 axles.
Got it? -

You got it except for the 9' 10' spread are the same weights over 80k gross.
Steers go 14600 without the big tires and with the big ones they go 20k. -
mgfg and Les2. Are you guys from MI? If so what part? And yes Les2, I really do care.

PM me if you'd rather not get the thread off on a goose chase. -

We love derailing threads, it actually a past time for many here at TTR...lol
I live in small town Ohio but ran MI for many years. -

Guess I was never bothered then because I had a pup with a 10' spacing and loaded it to 40,000 regularily and never had an issue. Guess I was just lucky!!
On page 1 of the topic jfaulk99 posted the Mi weights formula and I didn't see it. Here they are again.

Look at the table about half way down you will see. I tried to copy and past but it didn't work.
I know the one time I got pulled around back me and the DOT lady was talking. Like she said, if she wanted she could bust just about every 8 axle trailer up there for over axle, but they don't. The centipedes are hard to axle out correctly.
