I was just wondering how many of you have known they wanted to be truckers since they were kids? I know for me that I have known since I was 10. How about you?

Ever since I used to take the day off of school and ride with my dad to deliver and pick up material for our machine shop. When we got back into the middle of no where he would sit me on his lap and let me steer. That's when I knew this was something I wanted to do. Too bad I wasted a small fortune to get a college education and will never use it.

I was always fascinated by the sights, sounds, and smells of the diesel school bus (a 1963 Crown Supercoach) that took us to and from school in the SoCal foothills. It wasn't until much later that I realized that I wanted to be "out of the office", even though I tried it until my mid-30s.

I've wanted to be a driver since I was like 7 or so....I got my Class A a few months after I turned 18...
Luckily I went to school for something before I got my CDL so I'll always have a few backup careers just incase something happends to my driving career...

I'd love to drive a rig. Especially something like this:

Or this:

That would be amazing. -

When I was 8 years old I use to drive my dads old Massey Ferguson tractor around with a trailer attached to it pretending to be a truck driver. Well, I started off without the trailer pretending to be a bus driver but then once I put the trailer behind it I had to step up the imagination! My dad would get mad because I would burn through a tank of gas while he was at work! He didn't mind when the lawn was long though.

After high school I am going to take my mechanics test, so I have something to fall back on. Plus it'll be helpful if my rig broke down on the side of the road.

My family owns a grain elevator/trucking business so I've been around it my whole life! I got my CDL when I turned 18 and drove while going to college. I'm currently working in my field of study and miss being in a truck everyday! I can't wait to get back in a truck.
