We have a 1998 International tractor head that we just changed the #1, 3, & 6 injectors on. Since replacing the injectors the truck has been missing when it starts in the morning. After it warms up there's no problem when it shuts down and starts again. I used a Prolink Graphiq to do and injector cutout test here are my results:
Injectors
No Cutout: 3.5 No Cutout: 3.2 Response times
Idle(600 rpm) 1000 rpm
#1 4.0 3.7 1.13 ms
#2 3.6 3.8 1.07 ms
#3 3.2 3.7 1.15 ms
#4 4.2 3.7 1.09 ms
#5 3.5 3.9 0.98 ms
#6 3.3 3.7 1.12 ms
Can you guys assist me in evaluating these readings please?

test looks good. what about fuel supply pressure? check valves?
HIJINX Thanks this. -
Check your return for bubbles - in case you pinched a new o-ring , what cal codes did you use ? Were all the connections on the solenoids tight in the crimps and was a full overhead done
HIJINX Thanks this. -
bad connection causes fault codes. Damaged o-rings - not, but sometimes fuel may leak inside engine and mix with oil
HIJINX Thanks this. -
I always check terminals when I change injectors and nine times out of ten when one,s loose you won,t get a code but a stumble when cold

My 98 DD 12.7 does the same thing from day one. It starts up idles fine and all of a sudden there is a burp or a miss. Does this until she warms up. However sometimes she does it when she is warm. I took it to Detroit Diesel mechanic and they can't find any problems. There is no check engine light or anything. This has been going on for over 400,000 miles.
Hope you have better luck then we have. From what I understand from the mechanic it is an injector problem.HIJINX Thanks this. -
Morning everyone!
This morning i started the truck up myself and each time it got to 1700 rpms it started to miss/buck/stutter. After about 10 mins of idle throttle mixed with increasing revs it normalized so that once above 1700 rpms there was no sign of the initial problem. We just checked the codes after clearing them yesterday and they are still clear after doing some heavy haulage. Yesterday before the codes were cleared it was reading SID:51 FMI:3, SID:52 FMI:3
We'll make all the checks recommended by you all and i'll let you know if there are any changes.
Many thanks!

I hope i have better luck too, or it just remains at this level, as just an annoyance in the early start up throttling harmony and nothing more.

My cheap penny worth if it can help, I never in 40 years of electronics liked crimping terminal lugs to wire. The reason so many times these connections fail. Here's my process , Cut off all existing crimped terminal lugs,, cut a short sleeve of shrink tubing and slide it on to the wire,, now with a new terminal lug remove the plastic sleeve on the new terminal lug and ,, now solder tint your wire , slip the wire into to the terminal lug sleeve and crimp the lug sleeve, now solder the terminal lug sleeve and insure the terminal sleeve melds with the solder placed on the wire. Now you have a true mechnical and electrical connection, pull the shrink tubing on to the terminal lug and shrink the tubing. This long winded process will not fail you. thank you for reading my poor spelling. Have a good day.

Are you sure it is related with missfiring? Check for power supply!HIJINX Thanks this.
