$4.00 and $5.00 per gallon diesel prices are on the way....

man, you cannot even BEGIN to blame this on Obama. Prices were already sky high when Bush left office. And why? Gee....i wonder if that "conflict" in iraq had anything to do with it??

give me a break.....some of you are so short-sighted, it is amazing.

you forget, that the first stimulus package bush signed into law, the next day or two, the prices fell from $3 a gallon to under $2. basicly OVERNIGHT.....but what happened during the rest of his administration? prices began going back UP. again...presidents dont set oil prices....but they sure as heII can help them in the wrong direction (for consumers that is)

 

Well i truely believe if this nonsence with fuel, gas, food and every other thing we need to survive keeps going up and up while are earning keep going down or staying the same we will see the same thing here as in Egypt. The super rich keep gettting richer while the working class or middle class keep footing the bill . And as fas as shutting down it will never ever happen, the mega fleets wont and there's allways a buch of ### hats to take any load they can no matter what it pays or what fuel cost's. Back in 08 my rates where going up to equal fuel going up and i did just fine, this time around it's not happening because it seems to many company's are just takeing loads and not ######## about fuel cost's yet. One of my good cusomer's as not raised rates since the spring and i said something to them and they said nobody is complaining yet, well i stoped hauling for them untill they raise the rate's.

 

you're right...thats why i got a CCW license months ago. Here is what is going to happen....and it WILL happen, unless things change. People will keep losing jobs, there will be less tax revenue for the city/state, the city/state will end up having to lay off public service employees, such as COPS and Fire fighters. And then what will happen??? Crime will go up, because they know there arent as many cops on the street. So the odds of my house being broke into or me being robbed goes up. You dont think i'm going to protect myself? How far do you think your truck keys will go when looking at a crazy with a 5" double sided knife??

Know your costs. Don't haul anything that doesn't cover those costs plus profit. It's called running a business.

What do you even mean. How is abandoning a contract from a customer that wont give more money when fuel sky rockets helping those that cant run there operation. A guy that keeps hauling for the same money is the problem imo. A contract is not worth the paper it is written on plain and simple. At what point do you keep running for your customer for the same money when fuel was $2.75 a gallon when it is now $3.60 or more. I am sorry i bin doing this 22 years and do very well but i refuse to take money out of my pocket just to keep a customer happy when they could care less about me.

Get over your #### #####/money ENVY already. You live in one of the very few places left in the world where it is still possible for people from "humble" beginnings to raise their family to the top level of incomes in a generation or two. But you gotta work as a unit for it. Crap, immigrants come here from Asia and other places because they get it. They know the value of a good solid education and you sure as hell don't see their kids taking fluff/feelgood bird courses.

You won't see these people hanging around waiting for someone to do it for them.

 

before clicking the link, i can tell you that when they refine it, they heat the crude up. the first thing that seperates from it....is diesel. a post i made earlier i said it takes 1 barrel of crude to make 1 barrel of diesel. It takes 1.5 barrels of crude to make 1 barrel of unleaded gas. what product absorbes more money in production costs than the other? Unleaded....so why dont it cost MORE for the refineries to recoup those $$??

same reason why when you get a ticket from a cop, it costs more......cause everyone thinks we're hauling money.

 

If all hell breaks loose how exactly is a CCW going to help you?
