New York thruway closing

    The New York Thruway Authority will not allow any tandem truck on I-90 in either direction system-wide beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Wed. 2/2/11

    PLEASE post a link to this information!!! I just checked the NYS Thruway website and the

    re is NOTHING POSTED there about doubles/tandums not being allowed. I am VERY INTERESTED as my S.O. is going to be waiting on a doubles truck out out Warren Ohio about 2200 hrs to Rochester to pick up his trailer.

    Thats pretty common in the winter to not let the doubles out when the roads are bad, when I drove for Frito Lay here in Binghamton we had it happen a lot..

    Thruway Authority Announces Tandem Truck Restriction
    Restriction In Place Until Further Notice

    The New York State Thruway Authority announced that all tandem trucks, regardless of size, will not be allowed to travel the Thruway in either direction system-wide beginning at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011, due to predicted, severe weather conditions.

    The Authority will use Variable Message Signs and Highway Advisory Radio, where available, to inform motorists of the restriction, conditions and delays on the system



    In case of emergency, motorists are advised to call 1-800-842-2233 or 911.

    The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience during this weather event.

    so what happens now if you are at one of the service plaza's catching a few zzzzz.'s ???
    guess you are stuck there
    but better there than on the side somewhere i guess
