haha and some of those poor girls try to be polite but then get the guy going with his whole life story. i learned my first week not to give any of those long winded guys an open to start talking at you. bah i aint getting no miles! well i was until you started talking and ran out my 14.
JimDriv3r Thanks this. -
I know the type.
When they can't get the cashier's attention, they try to get the attention of those standin' in line with their Can y'all believe that she's ignorin' me routine.
They make me wonder if any of the cashiers ever fall for their bovine excrement.
It's so simple,
even a caveman could do it.Where do you buy gas?
Here in the Land-0-Fruits & Nutz, nobody pulls off the fuel island once they've gassed up. I've attempted to move my Cowboy Cadillac away from the gas pumps, only to have the attendant panic that I'm leaving without gettin' my change. When I explained my intentions, I just got a blank stare, then a reply.
Why move away from the pumps?
Nobody can use 'em 'till you come in and pay so I can clear the pump for the next customer.
He made a good point there.
If the next customer pulled up to the pump I vacated, they'd still have to wait 'till I paid before they could begin fuelin'. Not much, if any, time savin' happenin'.
YeaH!
If they stood any chance of scoring with the cashier chick, their life-story is enough to change a mind pretty quick, --- right about where the story gets to the third divorce, with four more to go, -------I've discovered that there really ain't no tactful way to convince those types that if given a choice betwixt listenin' to them run their mouth, or slidin' down razor blades into a vat of alcohol, it would be a hard choice to make. I'd probably go with the least painful, --- razor blades and alcohol.

this from a four wheeler hopefully becoming a trucker. there are alot of very considerate and helpful truckers still out there and i say to all of them , thank you. but , it seems to me there are more inconsiderate and downright stupid people driving trucks now than their were , say just 5 years ago. used to be i could run with a trucker all night or all day long as long as i kept my distance. and i usually got a wave, or lights (if at night) when either of us left the highway. now, it's like they own the road and i'm just in their way regardless of who is passing who. i know i'm rambling but what happened to the days when a 4 wheeler and a truck shared the road instead of ........ wait, i forgot, this isn't kansas and my feet won't fit in those red shoes

I agree with the passing with a slow truck, and holding up nationl traffic. Now if your going to fight, yell, curse, on the radio, and get all pissed off, you will become a hazard, and something probably will happen bad. Best off keep your distance ask that driver to move back over. All this will be over probably within 5-10 minutes. Not worth causing an accident. But the driver that cut you off was absolutely wrong. My opinion, wait it out till he gets back over.

I think some of the cashiers are short with you to purposefully get you to leave. There was a young lady at a Love's in IL. She had a bit of an unusual name so I was just asking how to pronounce it and commenting about the uniqueness. Then this older lady next to her cut in and said "Have a nice day!". So I got my stuff and left.
Dang, I wasn't trying to flirt with her or anything, just a 30 second convo (with noone behind me) and I was going to leave after I got my receipt anyway.
Man it really makes me mad when I go into a restaurant to have a nice sit down meal and some motor-mouth a few seats down from me decides to talk to me during the entire duration of my dinner. Oh without letting me say anything other than "Mmmhmm". Now I remember why I eat in my truck......rockyroad74 Thanks this. -
Sequoia, I used to run that area 15 years ago, on I 90w Rockford, Ill. area toll plaza, on the right side, get on the C.B and a babe by the name of "Sweet Pea" in the summer time she would sit by the fence, in her yard. She had a motor home in the yard and she would sit out side in a LIME GREEN, bikini, and I must say,( A RACK to beat the band) I mean this babe was Stacked to the gills.LOL ####. She would talk to us all the time, she also had a base station in the home. She was a lot of fun. Did you ever hear of her? Last I heard, she got divorced. Hubby couldn`t take it anymore.
I probably contributed to her divorce, didn`t really intend on that happening, but she would say something, and, you bet, I replied. I got very hot on the radio. Just couldn`t control myself, her either. LOL, but it was fun.

That goes both ways. My 65 mph ISX will out climb most trucks. I'll use hills to my advantage when I'm behind a slower truck. Yes, I do take into consideration traffic approaching from behind. But I can't count the times, the truck in front of me slows and here comes a speeding super trucker to cut me off and I get behind him to pass and then he loses it. Then I'm double screwed. Just because you have a faster truck doesn't mean you can get up the hill quicker.
Yeah Bumpy, the RVer thing bugs me too especially when you visit several places looking for a parking spot. The cheap ######## found a way to stay out of the KOA's and stretch them SSI dollars.

I won't say the company, but I bought a Big Deluxe one day. I got back out on the highway and ready to engage in my culinary experience, I opened it up and there's no meat on the sandwich. I seen many screwups, but that one took the cake.

Another thing with parking at TS"s.....(turnin into a real whine session for me)but since I have been at the "J" here in Tulsa,I cannot remember more IDIOTIC parking by....OMG......-TRUCK DRIVERS....-they,(a select few)block thru ways, park in front of other trucks & call it a night, and generally just dont give a ####,except about themselves of course....WHY does God LOVE stupid people??- I know He does,-He MADE Soooooooo many of em..
