New York thruway closing

Just heard CT gov is banning tractor trailers from CT highways effective 12:01 am Wednesday, February 2, 2011.

 

Can someone please define '' Tandem Truck'' for myself and Truckerdave
Does it mean a truck with 2 trailers?
Does it mean any tractor trailer with a tandem axle?


Dave is waiting on a set of doubles coming from Ohio to Rochester....not sure if the doubles will make it and Dave is not sure if he will be allowed to drive the one trailer.

HARTFORD, Conn. — Connecticut will be banning tandem trailer trucks on highways as forecasts call for ice that poses hazards to motorists.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said Tuesday the ban will take effect at midnight and end 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Malloy said New York and Connecticut are working together in imposing the tandem truck ban. He says truckers as far south as Virginia are being been notified electronically.
Malloy says the ban is limited to tandem trucks but that could change.

Anyone know WTF is their definition of a "tandem truck"???

 

it is a truck with 2 trailers--and since the message says any size they aren't just refering to turnpike doubles--they mean any 2 trailer rig.
