mcleod is by far the worst ive ever seen.when it comes to pms forget it.your luckey if u get one every 50,000 miles.the safety bonus is a joke.no one gets em.they say it goes by your quarterly average.weel the fleets average is 1500 mi a week.safetys is 2200 average.the guarantee forget it.anything u say or do its gone.they dont care bout hometimes or holidays.josh b and jason d r two pittiful excuses of white trash.and they run the show.theyll give your number to brokers and make u handle all wrong doings of mcleod.there is no contact with them nor will they return your calls.and forget qualcomm except when there tracking you.they dont reimburse you for tolls even though they say you do.there is no limit on weight they love over grossing and there answer is run around scales.safety dont know there head from a hole in the wall.they wont fix anything on trucks whatsoever not even tires.mcleod claims there a family oriented company forget it.i worked there for two years and am embarresed i did. drivers be aware. it cant get any worse than them and yes i jake r is the one speaking the truth to other drivers cause i know jason d loves reading these pages.

sounds like another driver wants to be babbysitted and cant handle truck driving for mcleod or any other compnay for that fact. you can always tell new drivers on these forums..... just listen and they will tell you how long they have been driving a truck.I bet this driver will run illegal when he has a load going thru the house.enogh said..like I said its typical.:biggrin_2551:

Sounds like you know nothing about this firm.

Do everyone a favor, go to work for them and learn about their practices or shut up when you know nothing about it.

No, the safety director would not have the nerve and she lived locally.

Her husband supposedly worked there, but who knows.

No one who has ever worked for McLeod as a driver has any idea how sad the situation is!

It's like the drivers are voiceless, faceless slaves instead of co-workers.

A: What is the point of sending your hours in if no one in the office responds or pays attention? What is the use of asking for ETA if they aren't going to reschedule a load if your ETA is later than the scheduled appt? If you are running thin on hours, why does planning send you something you can't do legally?

B: The drivers are never given sufficient times from pickup to delivery. The planning dept schedules a trip like the trucks are going to be loaded and unloaded magically in the blink of an eye and the truck runs at 65 mph everywhere it goes with no time for the driver to get something to eat, take a shower, fuel and no account of bad weather or heavy traffic. No less than 100 drivers in the past two years have quit due to bad planning.

C: Let's not forget the disorganization of the planning department! How is it that they can schedule you to pick up a load before you can get rid of the one you are under? Ie. You have a 6pm delivery appointment only, yet thay want you to pick up a 2pm appointment only (same day) before you even get rid of the one you're under!

Example:You deliver to a grocery warehouse at noon and they send you 93 miles away to pick up something at 2pm knowing that it is going to take you at least 3 hours to get unloaded. Does anyone know which grocery warehouses have magic genies at the dock to instantaneously load or unload trucks? Because that the warehouse I won't mind deliverying to.:biggrin_25526:

D: They are also planning you according to Household Movers guide which we all know isn't real miles. Additionally, they are skimming 3-5% off the top of the HHG. Ie. HHG tells you it's going to be 400 miles, we all know it's 450. Mcleod will tell you it's 387 miles though!

E: Not only do you get ripped off on their miles, they also expect you cover all their effin bills!

F: Their safety score is the WORST that any trucking company could have. This is I believe due to bad planning and overplanning. These bad practices cause more problems and cost more money in the long run.

Bbqchkn sounds like someone from McLeod's planning department. The language sounds quite familiar and very similiar to something they would say. Frankly, I hope it is!

If the folks in the planning department read this, you need to add at least an extra 15 minutes for the pick up, an additional 15 minutes for delivery, and an extra 15 minutes for every 100 miles up to an hour and a half. This will give the driver extra time to not only do what he/she may need to do but also give enough space for unforeseen circumstances (bad weather, heavy traffic) to be dealt with without having late calls. How many other companies schedule a driver to be at a shipper or consignee an hour before he/she belongs there? Once you plan drivers with more sufficient times, you will notice less late calls, less accidents, less speeding tickets and a better safety record and reputation. This is a win-win for everyone employed by McLeod Express!

Guess the truth really hits a nerve with the steering wheel holders. Hate to dissappoint everyone but I am just a company driver who has been around since Jan 13 1990 in the trucking industry. If you hate the company just leave like a man and move on dont cry all day on these post...its really funny to read.lol ..oh by the way I just talked to 2 mcleod drivers a few days ago at oakwood(oakwood,il) truck stop and one has been there 6 years and the other 2 years and they said they were happy. They did talked about alot of the things everyone else has mentioned but they found out how to handle the problems. like I said earlier you can tell how much trucking experience someone has by the stories they tell...its funny as hell everyone thinks I work for Mcleod....really ...lmao:biggrin_25522::biggrin_2559:
so I hope everyone finds a good co. to work for and hope you work good for the co. or you will be right back here again posting.
