Ya I wish more people would comment on WSE. I have always thought about them but I don't know much about them. To join them blindly is a wrong move. I would like to have more real info on them or any carrier before I would join them.

Right now with fuel being so high they want you to spend more time in the T/S than ideling your truck, I don't hang out in the T/S. Inverters are OK but they want the shop to install them. Time off is done as soon as you come back, supposed to be entered into the system so the computer can do the count down to get you home.

I was in Elm Springs from Monday morning till Tuesday afternoon. While there I along with several other drivers got reamed over our idling time. I refuse to try to rest and fry in my own fat. I spent over $100 of my own money staying in a hotel last week in Vero Beach just to limit my idle time. If WSE don't like me idling my tractor I will gladly clean out my tractor. I hope over time a larger percentage of the WSE fleet gets APU's, till then I plan to stay comfortable on my 10 hour breaks, and will be ready to put in my notice if this becomes an issue.

WSE Idle time differs from FM to FM, where mine says keep it below 50%, the guys who trained me FM would say 30%. I do have a APU, on a 2006 International, works pretty good and keeps my idle to the low single digits. As for inverters, they do allow them and prefer for you to have a 1500 or less, me, I have a 2500 watt and installed it myself, but they do prefer to have thier terminals install them.

I saw a posting in here last night that I think has been removed. In said posting poster said the new Prostars had APU's. I was in Elm over the weekend. I got a good look at several of them. Every truck I looked at had a battery pac in it not an APU. I have not spoke to any driver that cares for these things. On a cold night you are lucky if you can get it to run 6 hours. I got a Volvo Tractor with an APU yesterday at Elm. The driver that had it before is one of the 24 that's got new trucks and is on the road. I bet it won't be 30 days before some of these guys want their old tractors back.
