I too have a SERIOUS problem with others religion being pushed on others much less me. I do believe I would have turned my truck in at that.

The other thing I can not stand is the bible verses, abortion rederick etc plastered on trailers....... ex.= covenant

 

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who gets annoyed with the current climate of overly enthusiastic religious zealots. I personally have no problem with anyone's religious beliefs, just don't like having it pushed in my face. I thought seriously about turning in my truck, but I'm trying to hang in there for my 1 year anniversary at least so I have a little more track record for the next job app. I'm amazed at how many of the trucking companies have bible verses and political statements on their trucks. I've already decided that one of the things I'm going to be looking for in my next trucking job is a company that keeps personal religious/political stances to themselves. There is no way I would ever work for Covenant or Trinity to name a couple of them. I'm hoping to get out of the reefers too while I'm at it. I thought about signing on with Ozark..but the pay isn't as good as what JB Hunt and some of the others are offering. Well, anyways, didn't mean to write a freaking novel here. Sure glad to know I'm not alone in my frustration with people who assume everyone has the same beliefs as they do. Keep on trucking!

 

Zealots are dangerous regardless of there perticular religion. And it's ba shame cause I understand trinity pays pretty well but i'd never work for them

 

Yeah, that makes two of us. They probably have mandatory prayer meetings and stuff like that too hehe

 

It is ok to shove homosexuality and abortion in people's face but not christianity? Bah, humbug. I will agree on one thing though... a company that claims christianity ought to pay and treat their workers accordingly and not try to cheat them out of due wages and benefits. shamusmct2007

 

I am thinking of going with them myself. Will finish truck driving school in June. I too seem to be getting the run around from the recruiter, other than that feel it is a good company.

 

When was the last time you saw a billboard with pro-abortion or pro-gay messages in 20 foot high letters on it? I see bible thumper billboards everywhere I go and I get a little sick of it in my face all the time. If I want to read the bible, I'll read it.. I don't need it shoved in my face. That's what I mean about religious zealots. But that's okay, cause they're gonna be the death of their own religion if they keep it up. Again, I have no problem with anyone's religious beliefs or the decisions they may make about their own bodies or sexual preferences. If I was seeing billboards about these other things everywhere, I'd be griping about them as well. Seems like everyone wants to run someone elses life these days; they ought to get a grip on their own life then they'd be too busy to worry about what other people are doing.:smt101

 

Maybe if you wasn't tailgating the trailer in front of you; it wouldn't be in your face.

 

Boy, you are way off with that one I Never tailgate; as a matter of fact that is my biggest pet peeve about driving is keeping proper following distance. Maybe that's why I can see the BILLBOARDS with "JESUS" and other assorted christian messages in 20ft tall letters especially across the bible belt in the south. THAT'S what I'm talking about. But it gets old reading the bible verses and crap that's written all over the trucks too. Someday maybe I'll buy me a truck and trailer and plaster it with pagan messages.. but then again, we don't push our religion into other people's faces because we believe in freedom to chose your own life style so long as it doesn't hurt others. My whole point is about who is pushing (or trying to push) their lifestyle onto who. I have NEVER seen a billboard pushing gay rights, or reproductive choice rights but I have seen literally hundreds of christian religious billlboards and some of the crosses are probably 100 feet high or bigger. It just gets old.

 

You ever seen that cross on I-40 in TX. It's suppose to the the biggest in the western hemisphere. Me and a friend of mine stopped there a few weeks ago and I took a pic of her standing in front of it like she was on it. I don't know why I am posting this I just thought by looking at some of your posts you would probably get a good laugh out of that. I know alot of our friends in the pagan community here did.
