My big truck 96 KW also gets better fuel mileage when over 65. The CO said this is a trial for a month, then they will down load all the fuel mileage we get, then decide what to do next.

The people behind manipulating oil prices are the same people that control economies around the World. Very hard for any Government to fight let alone the citizens of Nations. All this is done by " Design", there are no coincidences.
They have their own set of morals and standards. Imagine how amused they must be by our meager efforts to change things. If they wanted this country to be all it can be, it would have happened years ago. That's why strikes only hurt you. Reserves are already built up to sustain any strike even though they might cause it to look another way.If the States don't take back their Sovereignty, nothing good will happen for the States. Look back a few decades and you will see this is true. Now, thank goodness, some States are taking their status back and we should do all we can to encourage all States to follow suit. Change starts at the local level. Leaving it all up to our so called Reps in DC will bring about nothing that will benefit us, the people and citizens of the States.( Republics)

In another life I was a geologist before I discovered Truck driving actually pays better. The reason fuel prices will continue to rise is worldwide demand is increasing at an exponential rate. Sometime between the mid 80's and 90's we reached the point where cannot produce any higher volume of oil. In other words when 1 well goes dry we can only replace it with another well so the amount of crude remains the same. Meanwhile demand from developing nations increases so we have a set amount of crude with more consumers to serve. If we pumped all the available oil and that includes potential estimates (which almost always are far less than the oil companies estimates) in the United States, We would have only a few months supply. Maybe we could stretch that out to a year if we all went saving. The Saudi government has been using the exact same estimate of there crude reserves for over 30 years now. Obviously they are exagerating the amount of crude they have left in the ground. Brazil has the worlds last large untapped oil reserve, but this crude is of a lower quality which produces less oil per barrel than most other reserves. Brazil itself is 100% biofuel. They use no fossil fuel whatsoever. Biofuels may be solution for the near future but they to have there drawbacks. Every acre devoted to biofuel is an acre less for food. We here in North America have yet to really feel any of these effects except is slightly higher prices. Many countries around the world are already seeing food shortages along with loss of jobs and economic collapse. For the past 60 years we here in the U.S. have stuck our heads in the sand and continued on as if this would last forever. The time to pay the piper is fast approaching and it will be our children and grandchildren who will have suffer for our lack of foresight or just plain stupidity is more accurate. We have spent so little on research and almost nothing on planning for the future which will be nothing close to our present condition. I just hope and pray our nation doesn't fall into the same situations we now see in the North African countries. Being a military powerhouse is no guarantee that we can withstand the pressures we are about to face. From my experience driving around this country and Canada most people are not ready for the changes that we will soon face. Lets remember history for a momment. Rome was never more militarily powerful than just before it fell into complete collapse.

Oil is a finite supply, period.

300 million Chinese middle class are going to take their "slice" of it.

Drill here ... drill there ... drill on Mars - nothing is going to stop $5 gas ... then $6 ... $8.

But hey ... just sit around "blaming" someone ... that always helps ...

About as much as writing your congressman.

Now where are you gonna park that 1 ton pickup?

Well, with the growing obesity problem in this country, I suggest America joins Brazil in going 100% bio-fuel. In a few years, we could have a bunch of hammer-down skinny people burning fuel with gleeful abandon.

I'm gonna call it the "Jenny Craig Put the Pedal to the Metal" potato free diet.

I'm going to develop an EPROM chip that makes a Series 60 Detroit put 700hp to the crankshaft running on used fryer grease, which in turn will put McDonalds and Chick Fil-A out of business, and send millions of Chinese people home when they can't operate anymore.

Of course the Golden Arches will pay me billions and billions of dollars to squash the idea, because you know we'll have crazed truckers holding the McEmployees at gunpoint demanding they dump the machines, and they won't be able to super-size those fries. But I'll hold out. Why?

Because, in the name of solving the worlds hunger and peace problem, we could ship all those unwanted potato's to malnourished countries, or Egypt, where they can throw them at the new president during the next revolt.

This in turn will bankrupt those greedy oil companies, all while lowering the cholesterol and BMI index, and CSA 2010 will have to be rewritten because there will be no overweight french fry eating people left to discriminate against. Heart attacks and gas prices will go down hand in hand.

I would recommend investing in my new company, called, the FRAM (Fries Really Anger Me)particulate potato nugget screening fuel filter, which can be manually dumped after every tank of fuel. All profits will of course go to me, but I do contribute to the ASPCA, my beer fund, and random "Will work for Food" folks, so you can rest assured that your hard earned eco-friendly dollars are going towards a good cause.

If you want a signed picture of me holding my upcoming Nobel Peace Prize, you can email me at hey@leastIdontcalldieselgas.com

    Peace out.
