Hi, My truck broke down. I sat on the shoulder of an off ramp from 6:30pm, until 6:30am the next day. Help arrived, a wrecking service brought me another Penske loaner truck to swap out with, so mine could get fixed. The day I broke down, my 14hrs started at 11:45am. So at 6:30pm, my log shows a change of duty status, from driving, to on duty(not driving). I started driving the next day,(with the loaner truck) at 6:30am. My question is how do I log the time in between? When I broke down the first day, at 6:30pm, and I showed on my log, on duty not driving, could that also be considered the beginning of a ten hour break period? At least eight, of the 12 hours I sat there waiting for help to arrive, i got some sleep. The rest of the time was phone calls, packing, and swapping.

If you were in the back of the truck I would definitely log it as sleeper time, ESPECIALLY if I slept!...
