Traviskim, trust me ,I've seen the room they work in and they are slammin busy:smt117,they get ALOT of phone calls and stay on em awhile, just keep calling thru out the day til your recruiter answers! Have you tried leaving him/her a voicemail too? Goodluck!sparkymax Thanks this. -
Well for our update...the Hubby and I finished classes/orientation on Weds. talked to our trainer a couple times so far, hes in Oregon waiting to drop be here Sat. morning.
Anyone looking into coming to Salt Lake City to train for Central , I reccomend it! We have had nothing but a good experience since we've been here! If you come into this with an open mind, patient, perseverance and you can be a sponge you will do fine. It is an excellerated course you will get ALOT of info thrown at you and you will feel overwhelmed and frustrated at times but push thru it and learn it and you can do it! We are excited to start on our next journey of this learing experience (5 wks w/ a trainer OTR)!
Goodluck to all!
Be safe! -
Thanks pool - hope my upcoming training in Fontana goes as well.
Good luck to you both! -
A couple questions for you experienced drivers:
1) I need to do some shopping. What kind of shoes/boots do you guys/gals prefer for on the road? Like work boots, or what?
2) I live about 40 miles from Fontana. I'll be doing my training there, and I assume it will be my "home base" when I'm on the road. Do I just leave my car there when I'm on the road? Is that what you guys do? Is it safe? I don't really have anybody to pick me up / drop me off between runs.
Thanks, Bob -
I posted this question but am thought to be a recruiter. How strange. Why wouldn't someone want to know this? Not that it makes any difference but I am not a recruiter. I would like to compare Central's pay to other companies, as well as, how they pay miles. Do you drive 1000 miles and get paid for 880 which is quite common?
"Can anyone post their pay? What software does Central use to determine miles? How much do they pay for detainment and when does it start? What speed are their trucks governed at?
Thanks "
