This is what most folks up home are like. I know exactly where hillbilly is talking about and it's a stone B. But y'know, in all the years of travelling the roads up there we never ran chains. Seems odd now, but that's just the way it was.
But something I just don't get. In the Northern parts of the US an offer of help is often met with a scowl or a curse and a MYOB. Heck, making eye contact whilst going back and forth to the truckstop seems to be frowned on... never mind holding a door or saying thanks when someone does it for you.
Trucker etiquette??

I don't mind if you don't want to hold the door for me. I will still hold it for you when your coming back out behind me.
I don't mind if you don't say thank you, screw you, up yours or bite me when I do hold the door for you. I will still say thank ya when you hold it for me.
I don't mind if you cut in front of me while we are making our way to the checkout. I would of let you in front of me anyway had you of asked, because I know your in a hurry.
I don't mind if you don't take a shower because either you are scared of the water or can't afford it or just don't care how you appear to the outside world. I would offer to buy you one but you would just get pissed off and say that I insulted you.
I don't mind if you park at the fuel lane for 45 minutes because when you went in to pay for your fuel someone held a gun to your head and made you look at the cb stuff and buy a whopper.
Heck I don't even mind if you and your buddy want to do a 62mph drag race up the two lane and block traffic for the next 3 miles.
What I do mind is the fact that you want to make fun of and complain about every other driver on the road about how they don't know anything and shouldn't be driving a truck. Well everyone starts out knowing nothing but the bs somebody has fed them. We all know what we thought it was going to be like and then you get behind the wheel and find out what it is really like.
I agree if everyone would just put a little effort into helping other people than the world would only be a better place.Saddle Tramp, 00 buckshot and Buckeye 'bedder Thank this. -
