This is just amazing....

its actually pretty easy. Every terminal, if you're MT (preplan or no) you drop the trailer. And like Lancaster or Phoenix, you dont get an MT till 3 hrs before your scheduled pick up. (provided its not 150 mi away) And when you enter the yard, every yard would be a controlled enterance/exit, and the person working the gate writes down all the MT trailers, removes it from the truck bringing it in, and the trailer is parked on a single row SPECIFICALLY for "road ready" trailers. And thus, gives you a working list for MT trailers. I think that the big problem is that the person behind the PA speaker sometimes is too #### lazy and/or just dont care. But it would make their job a bit easier than having to answer every other driver coming to the window asking for an MT, "just go look for one, and come back in and we'll look up if its a good trailer or not"....

 

its not about the steering wheel holder not caring or not......both sides are to the point of not caring. Experience is not relavent. Kind of like the argument the vets will have saying "nobody will ask a trucker stranded on the side of the road if they need any help". Well you know somethin'? if you're not hearing anything, that means EVERYBODY is guilty of not asking. Sure...there might be one out of 100 drivers that pass the broke down truck driver, but that means 99 drivers are just as guilty of "not asking"...and it dont matter the level of experience. end of story.....

Just this morning, i was at the Flyin' J on I-65 in Lebanon, IN. Ever been there you know there is a D.C. that shares the driveway. Well lets just say it was a cluster F. Ended up sitting in the driveway for about 20 min. and i was just there for 50 gal. of fuel. To make matters worse, impatient drivers trying to get OUT, were making a bottleneck, and one driver trying to get to the scale...AND..there was a newbie England driver who turned too tight to the right, and got his tandems stuck on a 2-3ft hill of ice/snow, and was stuck. One driver, with his own trailer said, "hey, i've got 45k in the back....if he wants, ill back into him and get him off there. 5 min. later......england was free, and traffic flowing again. (while later, i ran into this same england driver....parked at the very end of the on ramp leading to I-65 south, not really in the e-lane...but almost IN the lane of traffic, with his 4-ways on.....this guy wasnt ready to drive a big truck.)

but dont blame the "new generation"....blame every generation...
