My old boss used to pull pneumatics in So Cal, and had a 7 trumpet unit right off a Union Pacific engine. All of it was plumbed with 1" air line, and mounted right in between the bottom of the grille and the bumper on that Pete 359. He had a secondary tank because when he let 'em rip for longer than a split second, a little red light would come on the dash :D

I've heard they were deafaning. But never first hand.

My kid has 'em on his 379... the only thing they are good for is a laugh when you blow the horn as you pass some guys guys teeing up at a golf course...

I had train horns on my old Freightliner and one of my Kenworths years ago, I didn't use them much, but little kids liked them a lot.

I know a guy who does have real train horns on his truck, he needs an extra air tank for them.

I had a guy pull into a fuel island at a Petro one night with the real train horns.
He laid down on them under that canopy and i about pissed myself.
I was in the drivers seat catching the log book up while fueling and did not expect it.
I jumped out and this guy was looking at me laughing like crazy..
He did buy me a coffee though..

That sounds real cool. A bunch of drivers trying to sleep and Baby Duey gets his rocks off. A few of you admitted the person almost wrecked. Is that what you want? I find them unneccesary along with several ordinances that made sounding them off illegal. I like what I read somewhere else. They are nothing but a pen## extension. :biggrin_2559:
