Thanks to this thread, I put my app in Thurs PM. Recruiter called Fri AM. After talking to him, I don't think they're the right "fit" for me. He said he'd call back, after speaking with his supervisor about my desires. I don't know. If things don't immediately look like the right deal, there's no sense in trying to make something work. Those deals always falter. Both parties need to be a good fit for it to be a good working relationship. But, we'll see.

The past 3 weeks have been pretty good for me. 2500, 2600 and 2900 miles respectively. This weeks looks to be as good as last as I am headed, again, from Lima to Pineville.
Hopefully this is a sign that freight is picking up -
I would be quite satisfied with those numbers....lately at Schneider it has been considerably less busy, at least for me.

Is Crete doing any supply chain stuff or is it strictly a truckload company across the board? Supply chain meaning like Swift doing Dollar General or Averitt doing Cracker Barrel stores..
-
Crete has 2 walmart dedicated fleets. 1 in north platte ne and the other in ochelata ok.

I just joined Crete and have received an 07 Freightliner, Century Classic with 460,000+ on it. Suits me just fine.
The weekly pay is .39/mile for one year experience and that is Practical not zipcode miles. -
Don't fall in love with your truck...that's about the age and miles for them to trade it.

Yes I understand. This was just turned in by a driver. I like it. It is roomy and relatively light. Had no problem with a Bud load as might occur with the Prostar or other. Like the lack of fairings etc. that are pretty, but fragile. A truck should be hearty. Don't necessarily want the old Aardvark with no space inside, but this is a tool to get the job done.

..there are trucking co.s here in Oregon the minimum age requirement is 23 with 2/3 yrs driving experience, some even higher.. that's probably due due to the past few yrs economy with more drivers available looking for work, so they can set the minimum requirements higher now.. insurance rates for younger drivers with the smaller carriers might also be a factor but I'm just guessing on that one.

Just got my "yes" call from Crete...just have to pick a start date now!
Thanks to all who volunteered info! I'm really looking forward to getting rolling with them!
