As you travel 91 north through Springfield, MA Sam tells you to take exit 9 to stay on 91 north. Exit 9 is for route 20 west a right hand exit. All you have to do is stay left at exit 9 to stay on 91 north.

i have just purchased an intelli route tnd 700. my company gives us routing between cities and then we find our own way to destinations in cities. can you tell me how i can manually enter the routing my dispatch gives me between cities so i can follow it. i have played around with a few ways but have not used it on the road yet and would like to get familiar with it asap. i have to say its one hell of a good piece of kit and looks like it will be very usefull! any info you can provide will be much appreciated, thanks.

i dont think you can enter your own route. one way i have found a way around that is i will find a place along the route dispatch gives me and have the gps navigate me to that point. then i find another point and navigate to there. kind of a pain but if you have to follow dispatch routing to the t i dont see a way around it as you cant enter a manual route on the gps.

I believe that you can use via points inserted along your dispatched route.

You can try the detour method. Where ever the first turn is that does not agree with your company hit that then hit detour. Then go to the next turn that does not agree with company route. You may have to do that a couple of times to get rid of the turns your company route does not agree with.

I just bought a TND 700 "T7E" yesterday and everytime I hook it up the dock says that there are new updates. It did have about 278 updates the first time I hooked it up but it still continues to tell me that there are new updates. I exit out of the program not just the small x but by right clicking on the hidden icons box and exiting. I even unplug the unit from my computer and plug it back up and it still tells me that there are new updates. Sometimes it downloads 1 file "MCRA_BINGO.DB" but when it tries to copy the file it gets to 60kb left and continues to check the rest of the files. Kinda odd I think but computers do some strange things like that sometimes. Weird that it only does that every 4th or 5th time I try to update. Do I even have the updated versions needed? Are my maps updated or do I need to buy an update? Sorry if this seems confusing or sounds stupid. I can ignore it if this is nothing to be concerened about. Thanks in advance for the help!

    Rand McNally TND 700 T7E
    TND Dock Version: 1.0.97.0
    IntelliRoute TND Software Version: 10.9.1808.1617
    OS Version: A4.QC.RM.T7E.100615

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit <--Not sure if the 64bit matters but hey I'd rather give too much info than too little :biggrin_25525:

Have the loose USB connection issue. Have had some success gently squeezing the connector on the DC adapter plug (unfortunately ruined the USB cable when I squeezed too hard). I hope they find a more durable solution for the next gen.

Anyhow in Terre Haute, IN the path for US 40 is off from 3rd(US 41) to 11th Street. The TND shows US 40 following Wabash Ave/Historic National Road from 3rd st on. US 40 Eastbound follows Ohio Ave to 11th st where it jogs one block North to Wabash. US 40 Westbound follows Wabash to 9th St where is jogs 1 block North to Cherry Ave.

Also in Terre Haute turning from Indiana State Road 63 South to US 41 North the TND directs you to do basically a U-turn at the Maple Ave light. There is actually a ramp from Indiana 63 S to US 41 N (it takes you to the intersection of 1st st and maple ave where you turn left and then you turn left again at the intersection of maple and 3rd street/US 41).

Does the 500 and 700 models support a wireless backup camera?

Now that would be nice. Rand could even sell one as an accessory and make a little profit off it.
