First, this is the happy side of the board. If you are unhappy there is a place for that.

Did you discuss this with your trainer? If you did and that did not work, who did you go to next?
Are you saying that you consider these inappropriate standards? You put in some time so they OWE you a truck, whether you can perform to basic standards or not?
How many times should they expect it to take?
What should they put? "This guy can't drive"?
Does it matter whether it is acredited or not? You were terminated because you were not able to complete the program sucessfully.
That would seem appropriate. Pay your bill, get your results. But, why do you want those records anyway, you said they aren't acredited.
Of course they expect you to retrain, you failed to complete your last course and were terminated.
You expected DAC fix to be able to take accurate information off the system? If that were true they would have no credibility at all.
You can't pass the test so you find someone that does not test. That is scarry.
Or if you have washed out at that many companies, just practice asking, "do you want fries with that?"

teaming with a fellow graduate is a bad idea you will probally only be getting solo miles to start till you prove yourselves thus you will be spliting that mileage. only team if you are going to be putting your money in a joint account ie. husband wife . boy friend girl friend. it is tough enough to make money of a considerable amount when starting out dont complicate things by teaming.

Sparkymax there can be both goods and bads teaming like that. Both of you guys are newbies so you aren't going to be getting a lot of miles so the little miles you get you will be basically splitting. If you were team with someone experienced that would be a different situation. Don't get me wrong I am not whatsoever knocking your idea of teaming. You guys are just really going to have to know what you are doing and put the hustle into it if you want to make some money. When I was at Central they expected teams to run 1000 a day or 7000 a week. That is going to be very, very tough on two new guys. You are going to really have to refine your trip planning, pre-plans and stops. As soon as you get your load assignment within 10 min. tell them when you will be there and ask if you can drop, or deliver early. Have them working on the next two loads while you are in route. Don't stop for sit down meals, or dilly dally around the truck stops. This really eats up precious drive time. When you stop to switch drivers that's when you fuel, hit the can, check out the truck, and grab a bite to go! Try to hit the rest stops if you absolutely need pee pee breaks. They are way quicker to get in and out of! Truck stops burn time! Another little trick is to try and wake up your co-driver before you stop. This way they are awake, up and dressed and ready to rock when you stop! It sounds ridiculous but every little second adds up when you are running like that. Also who ever is not driving at the time you switch drivers and take off, fills out the logs and does any of the paperwork. This way the logs are getting done as you are rolling. This works great but make sure that you aren't a mile from a scale house when you take off. There are going to be lots of little tips and tricks to learn to pinch time. It is going to be even harder with those e-logs. On the brighter side of it all it's great you found someone that you might be able to mesh with out there. Sometimes that can be difficult to do. Make sure you guys have your set truck rules, this keeps a little order especially when things get heated. No matter how great you get along you guys will have your bad days and you just have to realize that that's all it is, a bad day. There is no way you can put to human beings in a closet together for months on end in a very stressful environment, with little sleep and expect everything to be "roses"! When my wife and I teamed I used to love the fact that I would go to sleep and when I woke I would be one or two states away from where we were when I hit the pillow. It was like being in a time machine! Another nice thing about teaming is the responsibilities get cut in half. One guy can do paperwork and such and the other take care of the maintenance and stuff. It worked out great with my wife because she loved the office work and I hated it. My job was to make sure the truck stayed running and I also did the extreme weather driving and tight spot driving. On that note, when you are going to LA, Chicago, or NYC you have someone to sit there and help navigate while you drive. It makes it so much easier.

Anyway good luck man, if you have any questions you know not to hesitate. Drive safe!

Today became a crappy day in a matter of 5hrs. I was supposed to be picking up my load yesterday at 1800 in Liberal KS National Beef. Well I delivered my last load yesterday at 1000 so I didn't have enough time to get there. I arrived this morning at 0800. Got to the gate they had my drop my trailer and I went back to get my trailer info and bills. They told me Oh well your bills aren't in the box yet wait an hr and come back up. OK not a problem

    1hr later...

Nope bills still aren't here. Our computer says the load is ready we just need the bills. Come back in a bit. OK so I went back to my truck. I went back every hr after that until 1130. They told me we will knock on your door when we get the bills "We Promise"

    1330....

I go back in because I passed out. Then Im guessing it was the lead guard said "Let me check something" She gets on the phone and gives them the information. Now you know its bad when the guard says in to the phone "Are you Serious!!!" "Ok Ill let her know..... Your supposed to pick up your load in Dodge City not here." I nearly hit the floor. OK so about 1.5hrs later I'm finally getting my trailer. Well My time would end at 1650. So I head back the way I came from Liberal there is a truck stop on 54. "NO THERE ISN'T ANYMORE!!!" I found a shell station with some truck parking and just said #!#$% Ill just stop here. The only thing I can say is. The load will not be in Vernon CA Monday morning by 0800. I am not going to break my neck for them sending me to the wrong place.

Hello, I'm on the fence would like some advice from recent central drivers trainees and solo drivers. I have two choices to go with werner or central, i had heard bad on both and good also. I was leaning toward werner but the more I research the more it gets worse. Now I'm leaning towards central, the recruiter has been good and answers all my questions. I can start March in fontana I'm concerned that a trainer will be available after school program. Would like some feed back on that, and is there regional solo available or would I have to go otr first then get regional later. Also are all trainers lease operators or company drivers also. Thanks

Central is a good company they do have their ups and downs and drawback like any other company but not as many bad as I found on other companies.

The longest a trainee ever waits for a trainer is 1 week. I have never seen anyone wait longer than that. As far as regional you would have to wait 3 to 6 months to even think about that. There really isn't regional just dedicated. All trainers are lease ops. I think there is one trainer that is a company driver but I think that's it.

I may have my complaints about Central and I do vent on this board for those that will listen. I however do not hate this company or wish I had gone somewhere else. I am very happy with the choice that I made to go to Central and I would recommend anyone to go. It is a fast paced school but as long as you listen and pay attention you should have no problems picking it up and getting your CDL
