Then maybe Rerun can send you a copy. Because he's like a broken record on here, I guess his name fits perfectly.

    No you can't!
    The manual says....
    DOT will tell you....
    My teacher said.....
    Blab blah blah......

I always love to see a new guy walk up to an old guy who's actually done the job for 40yrs (not learned about how it's done from a teacher) and tell him what he's doing wrong. The look on their face is priceless as they walk away with their tail between their legs.:biggrin_2559:

Watched that done at a steel mill about a month ago. Employee of 38yrs got told by a new guy how he was taught to set up the temper mill and how his years of experience on what actually works was wrong......didn't end well for the new guy.:biggrin_2559:

    ME TOO!!!

    Since when??
    Never heard such.
I sure wish we had a time machine so we could eliminate this wrong practice from being done over the past 100 years.
    (without problems I might add)

    Stuff happens.
There is one sure and set rule to CRASHES.... that is that there are no hard fast rules.

BTW - the term "Motor Vehicle Accident" (MVA) has been replaced in the terminology for several years now with "Motor Vehicle crash" (MVC).
The reason is because there is no such thing as an "accident".
If there is a crash, SOMEBODY did something wrong... (operator error)

you mean the same manual that says to never back up with out a spotter? i cant think of ever using a spotter

those manuals have some good information, but some of the stuff in them is stupid

uh....you read THAT part wrong........(about never backing up without a spotter)..

it clearly says, "use a helper whenever possible".........(and who really does, as many will back up in areas that they are unfamiliar with, and start banging into things), then wonder why they get hit with a preventable....one must use common sense in some situations when backing..

so, if you are going to "quote the book", then please do so in the correct manner.....

but also i may add that yes, "some stuff" in those CDL manuals isn't the smartest, and a lot of that information is from the old days of trucking, and for whatever reason(s) are never totally deleted from those books, and too i might add is that at the DMV when one is being tested for his/her permit, some questions do come up regarding the old ways....which i do not like either, but who is anyone to tell ALL the sates to delete all that old information..

Y'all are killin me--and since I've read all these--I have to ad my favorite--new driver comes up to me #(add your favorite location here) asks directions--Like a dumb ### I tell him how I LIKE TO GO--after explaining--showing map page etc. He say's "Why would you go that way? MY dispatcher-gps wife(add your favorite) told me to go...."
So why did you ask me? My old dumb ### falls for it every time!
Now a little off topic--I've been riding mc's all my life--and yes I am old(LMAO)been cross country more times than I can remember(have more miles on a mc than some of these guys have driving)Been stuck in some horrible weather situations in my time.
So I'm home with some friends(combination of other worn out trucker/bikers) Young kid (trying to impress I guess) starts to tell us how it got caught in a hailstorm on way home from sturgis(but doesn't know what state it is in) and by the time he got thru the storm--"HE HAD SOFTBALL SIZED HAIL PILED UP IN MY LAP!" Laughed so hard almost cried! Of course he got pissed--(did that young kid beer muscle all balled up ######) said "you callin me a liar!" Our favorite beertender(female) say's "No they are all to busy pissin themselves to say anything!"
    Just my $.02!
