OK, please do not get upset with me...my question is about a felony conviction. Yes I have done a search and found "iffy" answers at best and I would rather state my details so my answers will be more balanced for my own situation. I am 38 now and I am thinking of a change in careers. My conviction was for robbery in 1993. That is quite a long time ago. Never any drugs or alcohol problems. I do know that a robbery may be considered a violent crime. I do know it was labeled that because, (in NY anyway) having a co-defendant\accomplice is treated as robbery versus a burglary. Like I stated it was a long time ago, not who I am, I served less than my sentence, went to college and got a degree, never had any trouble at all before or since....So...Is it worth me spending the cash on a CDL training or what?
If anyone wonders why I did what I did, I was young and looking for adventure in the wrong places. It was a textile factory that we broke into and woke the guard, etc. Also I can not expunge or clear any records because NY state is totally awesome...(great deal of sarcasm there)....thanks and happy trucking
