i love pulling dooubles--except for the odd wiggle--they are great
now backing them up is a different storey--i tend to always over steer--so with a set of doubles--it kind of resembles the settlers circling their wagons to prepare for an indian attack
Any expert backers out there

I can keep doubles straight out of their parking spot....so about 65-70 feet, after that I need serious practice.

If you get a chance, take the Hoover Dam tour. There you will see pictures of dump truck drivers backing up the hill fully loaded...but wait, the only way they could see and drive was to stand up (cabs had no roofs) turn around and look over the bed while steering with their feet. From the bottom of the gorge to the top (no room to turn around at bottom). The steering wheels were very big and the drivers would steer it barefoot.
The pictures are there; now tell us again how good you are? -
Every invention is to make the life of the consumer easier. I worked in the truck my company assigned to me. A/C, power steering, jakes, 10 speed, in pretty good shape for a 1999 in the construction industry. Would I work in a truck like you described if it was assigned to me? Yes. Am I going to ask for a truck with no roof that I have to steer with my feet to backup, since it has no mirrors? No, I dont need to prove anything, and I dont need that big ticket from DOT either. -
There are only a few things I'm perfect at... Welding, £^*ing, and backing...
