Sitting at the Flying J in Pontoon Beach. It looks like we got 2 inches of ice while sitting here. I only had 10 hours left and picking up none tomorrow so I told dispatch I was doing a reset and not chancing driving in this mess. They're talking possibly up to 2 feet of snow tomorrow. We'll see what happens. Hopefully they will have the roads cleared once my reset is over.

Bear - buddy, that's playing it smart
and with that you should likely live to see another day; way to watch, way to watch (like the big leagues do).
Thanks for the 'post' of encouragement, btw. Most appreciated. Stay warm - and of course -
Happy Trails -
Well I didn't get my reset in. The snow fall they predicted didn't happen, roads opened up so I hit it. Made my delivery but it took me about 7 hrs when it should have taken 4.5. I-39 was shut down, I-155 was shut down. I took another route. It was a mess really.
Now I sit in the parking lot of the Flying J up here in the back 40 row. These truck stops and rest areas have been a complete mess with this weather.
Everybody be safe out there and give us a shout out. -
This is turning out to be a VERY slow week. I don't know if it was the weather that caused it or other factors as well. My miles are way below the average I've been running. I dropped yesterday in West Chester, OH at 1:30. Still sitting in the Trenton yard waiting to be dispatched. I was #4 on the list yesterday, still #4 as of 8:00 a.m. today. There are 11 on the list total.
I logged a total of 1 hr on duty yesterday, lol. I hope everybody else is doing much better. Right now its freezing rain coming down, but not too bad.
Don't mean for this to be a doom n gloom post, just putting it down as it happens. Lets hope for a better week next week!

Well the Gods smiled upon me. About 2 hours after I posted the previous post I got a load to Texas. I'm stopped at a rest area 3 miles from the Arkansas state line. It's been a long day and I'm ready for a good night's rest.
Had some freezing rain this morn, then started snowing like a mofo in Trenton. Was thinking "wonderful, another day of this crap". But once I got out of the Cincinnati area it cleared up for the most part. So not a bad run at all today.
Driving through Missouri, it's dark, driver gets me on the CB to tell me I have no tail lights. Wonderful! I'm towing a Barney trailer. I stopped and checked the plug and all is good so I guess it's the trailer wiring somewhere. I passed 3 weigh stations and they were all closed thankfully.
I forgot to mention I bought the Rand McNally GPS, the 5" model. LOVE IT! I decided to test it out today and follow the route it gave me to pick up my load. Empty paid miles was 111. I pulled into the customer and it was 111 miles right on the nose. I was impressed to say the least. I still balance and check it against the atlas but I'm liking what I see. Well worth the investment for me.
Time for some rest. Be safe and God speed.wulfman75 Thanks this. -
Had to come to Dallas for a delivery in the morning. What a pain trying to find a parking spot for the night. I went through 3 truck stops before I decided to make my own parking stop at the fourth one. Hopefully traffic won't be too bad of a nightmare in the a.m.

Texas you suck lol. Sitting in va. Got to Eden and was sent on a load going to mass. Ugg I'm on your runs lol. Hopefully disp. Will get me back on my normal favs lol

tTexas doesn't suck, bear does for getting that run. lol. just wanted to make that clear

Haha, I think I'm deserving of it! Randolph, MA isn't really that bad of a run out of Eden, and decent miles. At least you don't have the snow storm to deal with I had running up there(not really sure what the weather is doing up there). A couple of people suggested this route, a few more miles but a lot less headaches. I took this route out of town and it wasn't bad.
take 220 to Roanoke then 81N to 78E to 287N all the way to 87n to 84E Hartford to 90E to Boston to 95 to 93 then to your exit 5 down through town or
grab 287 in NJ and take it back around to 95 in CT -
What a day. I made my delivery this morn and cruised back down to Dallas to fuel up and see about getting the lights on my trailer fixed. 9 friggin hours in the shop at the T/A getting lights fixed. Actually it started at 9 a.m. with me talking with the shop via Quallcom and pulling out of the shop at 7:30. I was so frustrated. The weather was beautiful out and would have been a great day for running.
But finally got out of there and cruised on down to Waco, where I'm at now waiting to get in the dock to get loaded. Taking this load to West Allis, WI so a good run to make up for it. I'm hoping for good weather most of the way up to help make it enjoyable.
