I started to write my long sad story, but here's the bottom line.
I don't check this site very often so if you ask me a question, it may take awhile for me to get back to you.
- Don't buy your first truck without the advice of someone you know and trust, unless YOU personally know the units history.
- Keep in mind that companies like Arrow make it very easy to get in over your head.
- Don't believe ANYTHING the friendly salesmen tells you. Get everything in writing, and since this is America, often even that is not enough.
- Have money available, in reserve, for the unexpected.
- If you have made up your mind to "go it alone", consider purchasing a used unit from a reputable, carrier and lease it and yourself back to the carrier. If the carrier is reputable, they may assist if you experience issues with the unit.
- "Warranties" usually cover the stiff that doesn't break.
Arrow - Learn from my mistake.

This is probably the first place you went wrong.
NEVER flease your truck from the same source as your freight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER!!!!
Its too easy for them to break you if you don't have options for moving on if conditions become intolerable for you.
All the cards are stacked in their favor.
As you've obviously found out.
As long as you believe this is a good way to get started as an O/O i'd suggest that maybe you haven't learned from your own mistakes.Big John and Paddletrucker Thank this. -
Correct, they have all the control, you have none. Try "leasing" a truck from a truck company and changing the contract, you will get laughed out of the building. And do you want this company to also do the bookeeping ? Can you say "creative"?
-
he didn't say lease a truck from them he said buy a truck outright from thenm THEN lease on to them, some people need to read the whole thing before they respond
labagiamf Thanks this. -
Arrow truck sales and Arrow transport were two different companies.
The way it was written looks to be talking about the fleace purchase that so many companies push..... and so many drivers fall for. -
Look guys. I did not have any problems with the carriers I was leased to. I had problems with the tractor I purchased from Arrow. Somewhere In the forum I read about a driver purchasing a used truck from Crete, leasing back to Crete and when he had transmission issues (I think), Crete assisted. I don't know how that story ended, but I know what happened to me.

>>>>I don't check this site very often
I think this was your first mistake...Sorry to hear about your issues though... -
Blikzum, Sorry to hear of your troubles, hope everything works out for the best. Keep your head up and chalk it up as a learning experience. Good luck
-
That clarifies things.
The way the post was written I think we all assumed that you were caught up with the disaster that was Arrow trucking. -
Actually, we did not all assume that. Some assumed it was arrow truck sales, when the OP used terms such as 'friendly salesman', & 'warranty'.
