It is a decent product. We offered it as a service when I was working for an auto glass company.

$88.50 plus tax per application :/

What do you mean by 'dead spot' ? Is it a 'aero vaccuum spot' spot that collects water?

I know that it is messy and smear if you don't hand buff the treatment application. I don't see how what you describe could happen, unless you just sprayed it on and did not remove the excess.

I too don't like RainX applied directly to windshield, in my experience, it does smear even if it is buffed out. However, the pre-mix washer solvent works very well. I use it on the side windows and mirrors and love it.

I've had quite a pleasant experience using RainEx as I have been using it since 2005 on my personal vehicles. It's a small hassle getting RainEx on the windshield of a large tractor, but well worth the effort in the end. Sometimes in the summer, it's a huge pain driving through humid states where bugs are very prevalent. :biggrin_25520:

Apply RainEx. Drive. Stop. Scrape bugs. Clean windshield. Repeat.
