Somebody change the dates. Old posts need luvin too! :) Just a bank of information.

The OP is a reflection of things to come. No way would I crawl in a truck like that. That would be like renting an uncleaned motel room.

If that truck is still rollin today, I'm pretty sure the cubby hole still has the same stuff in it, just more of it. I've seen worse too, but that's a bad sign to see on your first day. Don't walk away, RUN !!!

I just left a company I was with for the last 2 years because of all the slip-seating. As soon as you take a day off they put someone else in the truck. When my truck went into the shop they want me to drive someone else's truck. I've seen what some of those trucks look like, so I say no. I'll wait for mine to be done. Sure I lose some money but I don't have to live in the filth. How would these jackazzes like it if somebody stayed in there house while there not home?
I will never slip-seat again, ever!!!

Windex and paper towels? Were those oil bottles empty? Could you refill them from the bulk at the company? Gees. You seem kinda lazy....to me it wasn't that bad. I don't mind to clean my workspace. I used to work in a cubicle. I cleaned those, too. Or, you could pay someone to clean for you. Your employer didn't dirty the space. You could take charge of it and make it shine....

So true formertaxidriver it didnt look all that bad to me. I have never seen a company spit polish the inside and out for a new driver. The outside being clean is a truck wash away. The inside isnt too bad just clean it up. Every single truck I have ever started to drive I have cleaned and not only because it might have been dirty but because I wanted it to be cleaned by me cause only I will clean the inside of my truck the way I want it done.

On the slipseating issue its not a good idea for several reasons. 1) A driver will not take care of a truck properly if they are slipseating. They can always blame someone else. 2) As a company owner a driver is always happier and always does a better job if I give them a nice truck and leave them in it. It makes the driver more comfortable and gives the driver more of a feeling of being in his home away from home. 3) its also very tough on a truck when you slipseat as all drivers drive differently and now the truck has to take on the abuse of however many different styles of drivers drive the truck which drives up your cost on repairs on that truck.

Hmmm ya that is just disgusting! I have a clean truck freak for a dh and have to say that he has hopped in some trucks and just walked away because of this. Just imagine what their house looks like! We roll with kids and the truck is always clean so this is just pure laziness.

Looking at closeups of those pictures I dont see the issue at all the truck looks clean on the inside just dust from sitting for a few weeks. If you consider this bad you havent been driving long. If this is really an issue not just an excuse for starting something maybe you should buy your own truck that way it will never get dust on it. On the outside being dirty I would guess the company doesnt have a truck wash at its terminal and it looks like standard dirt from winter time. So there are a few mt oil cans in the side box whoopty do throw them away. The oil ones the company probaly fills them so you dont have to pay truckstop prices for oil as this is a big way to save money and if there were rad fluid cans there you might want 1 or 2 filled with water for those emergency times weather its for your emergency or a fellow truckers emergengy. The glove look useable and looks like there are even fuel gloves there to keep your hands clean when you fuel. Honestly if this really was a big issue you probably wont make it long at that company and you should probably look for a job in a salon. Remember the bottom of your shoes will get dirty walking across the parking lot so you better get some booties for them.
