I would suggest going to a community college to get your training. Welcome to the forum

 

Keep in mind, community college courses tend to be cheaper because they have limited resources, which may amount to one instructor and one truck. Which means a lot of downtime for you while the other students are practicing backing or out on the road, and long times to complete the training versus commercial or company schools.

 

Welcome to the boards Joker. My only advice to you is that you first need to research this career path very thoroughly before even thinking about school. The experienced guys here will tell you that trucking is not for everyone, and there are negatives to consider that you won't find in other careers. The great majority of new drivers will not make it past the first year. Not trying to discourage you, but that's just the way it is. Take your time, do your research, think very carefully about this career and the impact it will have on your life and family, and then if you feel in your heart that this is still for you then go for it.

 

this is not just a job its a life style family friends and home all will not be as is now think hard and do ask dont just jump because you need a job this isnt for all but if it will work for you welcome aboard be safe
