Think this is the first time I have read that someone actually received a company job, let alone as fast as you did. Keep the updates coming..

Fret not, Newbie, ---
For we have experienced fire-preventive personnel on duty, stanin' by to douse any flames.
There are those of us who want to hear from those who are finding success at C.R. England. You don't work for the last company any more, but I understand your reluctance."A crummy piece of paper"? And a "job"? A "crummy" job? (Just kiddin' -- I hope.)No foolin'?
That's a switch.
I wonder if the law suits have finally convinced the powers that be C.R.E. to change their business practices? That's unusual, but I hope it's a sign that things are changing for the good there. I wish you the best of success, Newbie.
Please keep us posted.
YeaH!
You got that right.
Let's hope we read more posts like Newbie's.

OOOOOOOOOKAY, lets start at the beginning. ANY major ccompany is going to be good/bad..What I mean is,, that big companies pull freight according to their SOP (Standard Operating Proceedure).. If you're one of the whiners who say " I don't go there.....I don't do this and don't do that....", you're not going to be happy. They want the freight ontime and on schedule, so if you don't like this place or that place, you aren't going to get what you want , because it's THEIR ballgame, and YOU are the catcher!
When you go to them, expect to go all kinds of nasty places, smile sweetly and do what they need you to do.....if they ask you "for a favour" do it ONCE,especially if there isn't one coming YOUR way. Just say, NO THANKS CAN'T do it and smile sweetly. To Quote an old song " you got to go where you wanna go....do what you wanna do". but ALWAYS have to go where THEY want you to! I've been at it 44 years...been there done that!Last edited by a moderator: Feb 10, 2011

Thanks, I'll try a thread next.
Yeah, the head of the school said that the piece of paper wasn't anything special. He knew that what we really wanted was a job.
Could be. Also the rapid expansion, new Chicago regional and purchase of Smithfield created a need for solo drivers on the OTR/ North American Division. A company team guy tipped me off just before I was ready to upgrade that he had seen a lot more company solos recently.

does anyone know if CR England hair tests everyone, or just randomly selects people at orientation?
-
You seem awful worried about that. This is about the 5th thread I seen you ask that?
-
Well lets see, if they see this thread & someone turns up with the name of clerk to texas school then they might just pick you out....
-
He's asked the same question 5 times in 5 different CR England threads. He's a doper.

Thats an awful snotty welcome from all of you.
On one hand its none of your business, but in light of the fact that I quit smoking weed months ago so that I could find a job, and STILL haven't found one, in this economy I'm turning to truck driving school as a last resort since I will have nowhere to live as of the first of March and I really dont want to live on the street. My parents dropped me on my ### years ago, and I made a life for myself regardless...even had a fiance, plus my own place, car, extra money, promotion, then bam...I got laid off. And denied unemployment regardless. And you're #### right I smoked my weed when it was comfortable and safe, I enjoyed it. But that has nothing to ddont with my character, and I am not a "doper", and you can kiss my rear with your judgemebtal b.s.
I'm just trying to make it, like you. My apologies for spamming the question. I realize it was horrible forum etiquette, but I am really worried because my Aunt is paying for the initial fees and I don't want to waste her money. I'm also gonna be on the street in two weeks if I don't make it. But this hostile and prejudiced attitude against an aspiring driver is certainly unwelcoming.CaliCornDog, AfterShock and venne Thank this.
