Some of you drivers need to do a better job at taking care of these new trucks you get...
I can't stand getting into a older truck with miles, that's all tore up on the inside...there's no excuse for that...
Give some drivers new trucks...and they just seem to get a joy out of tearing them down...

They give these new trucks to these older bearded fellas...who just seem to rip the trucks apart from the inside...
Being older and bearded doesn't neccisarily mean your more clean and responsible... -
It's also that many people have this attitude: It's not mine, so I'm not going to take care of it.
People are too "funny" (not the humorous kind either).ghostchild Thanks this. -
alot of the trainers take the 7/7, training pay helps make up for it, plus the extra miles................figure it out
-
I was on the 7/7 for about 2 years and enjoyed my hometime. Not much money, but I have another income. Have to slip seat and I had to drive over an hour to get to the drop yard.
I guess I would still be with them, but they shut my drop yard down 2 years ago so I had to go. I now pull a tanker and 3 days is the most I'm out at a time.

7/7 fleet is a part time job. Figure it as that. I ran that fleet for about 4 months back in 2006 during a time I needed some additional home time. Averaged 2700 miles/week but that was when freight was still good. Had to go back to the nationwide fleet to make a living since being a single person needed weekly work. The trucks in the fleet are showing their wear. Most were purchased in 2006-2007. If the truck is still showing good profit it is being kept beyond the 500,000 miles that use to be the cut off point for trade in. They are in the process of upgrading the fleet. Trying out all makes with variety of engine types. Trailers are showing their wear due to this nasty road chemical used in the winter. The trailers never get washed.

I've thought about looking into Roehl.
Dont they have some kind of a work 7 off 3 program too?
That would be a pretty decent deal. Plenty of home time and you're still out enough to get some decent miles.
I have about 7 months into this industry and it's one hell of a lifestyle change that I'm still not used to yet. Being on the road 3-4 weeks at a time. a "7 on/3 off" would definitely make that transition a lot easier. -
Not sure about that, but I do know they have a 14 on, 7 off rotation at some locations...
7/14....2 weeks out...one week off...with that you could have a life...you could plan stuff every 2 weeks, a week off is enough time to accomplish much...
and prevents drivers from gettting burned out...I mean who seriously can handle life on the road for weeks at a time anymore?
And with todays restrictions, no fun truck stops, which are just parking lots anymore...whats the inncentive to stay out there for weeks at a time anymore... -
Swaps,
I believe at your experience level, you could do alot better.
Unless you just like Roehl. -
My experience level?
I'm not an old dog out here.
I just catch on a lot faster then some people.
