When I got the shaft, I was told that A) they have to pay for a ride back home by a couple in the terminal. A simple call to Travel will get you a ticket. B) Some people gave me a hand when offering me money and so forth in the terminal as I was flat broke. C) If you get told to leave, please request a copy of your DAC report when you get home. Call HR and ask them what they are putting on it. D) Before leaving ask for paper that requires you to mail it in stating why you were let go from orientation. Your best bet is to have USX take you to Chat as Greyhound has more bus rides to Atlanta.

hello everyone, i hope evryone is doing well. my question is does anybody have information on us express? the reason i ask is my wife and i are interested in getting our class a cdl, and i know she would feel more comfortable with the automation trans. i am just wondering in the current economy i know freight is down but, is anyone getting close to the miles they say on their web site? all in all is this a good company to go with? they might be paying for our training here in florida. honestly i coudln't care about the auto trans one way or the other. thanks ahead of time for any information

They only require team for certain states. I just came off of training, live in MO, and I don't have to team.

They do not have a CDL school but once you have your CDL, they will send you out with a trainer

Im thinking Us Express as well because of the auto trannys, and I hear what the vets are saying and I value your input, and I have mad respect for the people who know the industry. And I just want to know from the vets is there any upside to starting out driving autos?

I have been talkin with some USX people and understand they are in the process of getting rid of the autos. They are getting new trucks in with the 10sp. Cost of maintenance and upkeep on the autos was given as one of the reasons. I would prefer a manual anyway. A newbie is better off learning a manual, and getting the initial experience (1st yr) with manual. They have the capability of driving anything then. Someone who only drives an auto has limited themselves pretty severely in the future, not many companies use them.
