Good job! I was walking my dog at a TA and watched a two guys throw about 20 pallets and some boards out on the ground. I walked back to my truck and called the manager. He come flying out there on a golf cart with another guy. He made those guys pick every bit of it back up and put it back on his trailer. :)
The few times I had to take pallets back, I always call the next customer and they are glad to take them. I hate litterbugs.

I have had to get rid of stuff like veggies :biggrin_25510:a time or two, I asked the TS manager if I could use the big dumpster & I was always told "Okay go a head". A lot of times I have been able to sell pallet's to a pallet buying company for up to $5.00 a pallett, esp in California 24x $5.00 = Dinner for a week or more.

    and drivers HAVE to ask....
why do truck stops charge so much...
WHY do i have to pay to park....
WHY is doesn't this place have more parking...
BLAME IT ON IDIOTS LIKE THAT!
and we wonder why we get no respect anymore. granted, some of it can be blamed on various things in the industry that leave US in a bad situation, but some things are inexcusable

and drivers wonder why finding places to use for overnight parking are diminishing. and the selling the pallets does work. i have done that before. made 300 bucks off a trailer load of pallets that i was told to find a home for lol

Wonder how many people have died as a result of running over something thrownout that damaged a tire?Or fires from cigarettes?

I mostly haul produce--rarely have I had anything kicked(refused)if it really is bad(almost never it gets disposed of at shipper-They all have dumpsters--usually it is an overage against there order-a product they didn't order(usually very rare--I always get a copy of the fax--e-mail my customer sent with order and verify everything that goes on truck)Mostly it turns out customer set order to buyer and they just over ordered. So in the rare times it happens I don't throw it away at truckstop--since it is good--I go in ask for manager--explain the situation and ask if the kitchen could use it. Never been refused--always seem to be able to use a dozen or so cases of good lettuce or peppers.
    Just my $.02
