Drafting

JMO: MOST drivers who are safety minded do NOT want cars that close to them, it puts everyone in DANGER. Holding a CDL makes that driver more "responsible" in the eyes of the police/DOT etc and a 4 wheeler "drafting" is just a set up for a whole lota problems.

PLEASE show some respect/kindness/common sense and DONT try to "draft" on any vehicle.

I don't even like having my trailer right behind me!

 

Okay I don't like it, why? more often then not what happens soon as I have to jump into the left lane the car who was following me decides to jump out and pass me soon as I turn my signal on.

Now I have drafted in my 4 wheeler (pickup truck) before but I had a hand held CB, I let the trucker know I was back there and would not be trying to pass him and that I was trying to save on fuel. I didn't follow really close but I knew he would not be able to see me in his mirrors.

If you plan on drafting then I suggest the same, buy a hand held cb and let the driver know your back there and your not going to try to pass.
Don't follow real close, that pocket of air travels at least 6 car lengths back. So you can stay at a min of 3-4 car lengths behind. But again its a good ideal to be in contact with the driver if you plan on doing so.



drafting is dangerous and should be avoided.

 

If I have to slam my breaks and lets say that just before I do this the fuse controlling my break lights burns out. Do you think you could get out of the way in the time it takes you to realize that I'm now 25 mph slower then you and still dropping?

Also remember I have more ground clearance then most cars and I love to go right over the top of re-caps and laugh as you make a mad dash to avoid it.

Bottom line if your too close then you get what you get.

Drafting is a big no-no in my book. Nuff said!
