It still is not clear to you. What seems to be the problem isn't the problem. Drivers deal with logs everyday. What we resent is people who think they are better than us.

I don't think I'm better than you. Where did I say that.

You've taken what was meant as a humorous look from the other side of the desk and turned it into an attack on you - where did that come from.

In my experience people don't feel like they are under attack unless they feel guilty about something.

Staples are a small thing, I can remove them and I get paid well enough that it's worth the effort and furthermore if there were not a majority of drivers who made a mess of their logs, I wouldn't have a job.

If you do your logs correctly, why are you dissing me? I notice that nobody who admits to handing in messy logs has addressed my post - I wonder why that is. You would think they would be the ones to get upset.

You think I need to earn respect?

Don't you think it shows respect for the people who handle your paper work to endeavor to hand in paperwork that doesn't look like it's been in the back with the cows? You say your paperwork is always good - I'll take your word for it but does that mean that everyone's is? If your paperwork is always handed in properly, then I wasn't talking to you.

Your attitude toward me sucks, quite frankly and you might want to take a look around the next time you're in the office - those are the people you've been ######## to all morning. How do you treat them. If you treat them with the same lack of respect that you've shown me, well - all your self-acclaimed sense of humor isn't going to win them over.

Well once again what seems to be the problem isn't the problem. Until you see that you won't understand.:biggrin_2554:

    Same to you.

Your arrogance has come across loud and clear. You've managed to take what was meant as a humorous and helpful post into a personal attack on me.

You haven't ruined my day, but you seem to have ruined your own.

Excuse me, but I am not the one here that got off on the wrong foot. You don't see the way you came into this thread as a problem, so how can you figure out the problem if it is how you relate to people? I never had a problem in dealing with office people, but then again I never went in there saying look you slobs clean up your cubicles. This is an eyesore.:biggrin_2559:

Please understand, Margaret. You wrote what you perceived to be a humorous post... but unfortunately, we don't know you well enough yet to know that was the tone. Read strictly as written, which is pretty much all we can do until we know you better, it came across almost accusationally.... as though the majority of drivers were deliberately trying to make your life difficult.

And honestly? I just don't see that as the case. You mentioned that none of the drivers who hand in messy logs responded to your post. In any profession, there are going to be those who simply don't care... and those that don't care about their jobs probably aren't going to care enough to join a forum to help others. You could be barking up the wrong tree here.

Another thought -- if you feel that the majority of drivers are turning in messy and incomplete logs, then perhaps you should look for employment elsewhere. A good trucking company would be very concerned about a driver's documentation. Maybe it's not the drivers, but the employer's expectations of them.

Do you welcome everyone that you don't know with suspicion and hostility?

Some way to treat a newcomer.

Is it just on this site or do you not get along with others in your daily life? No one on here has been hostile with you. Have you ever heard of act and react? The reaction you are getting is from the way you are acting.

I realize I'm doing the worst job in the trucking industry. What I didn't realize is how hot a topic is was. I'll be sure never to mention it again.

As I mentioned earlier but it must have gotten lost - I "held the light" for my late husband who trucked everywhere for 40+ years so I know a bit about trucking. His log books were just another part of his job, just like kicking the tires and fueling up.

I have nothing but respect for drivers. I guess I thought drivers would have a bit of respect for the people who deal with the paperwork - we all agree there ought to be a better way to track time.

    Take care, Margaret
